Ah. So only approved methods of protest are to be utilized?

Kinda misses the point, no?

If you wish to protest Trump, stand outside Trump Tower. If you wish to protest against the Police, stand outside Police Stations. If you wish to disrespect those that fought for you, bend a knee during your national anthem. Protest all you want, but do it in the right place.....

The protest by NFL players was not about the POTUS until he made it about his views on how and when NFL players can protest and his suggested consequences for doing so. He brought this upon himself. You should feel no sympathy for him. He waded into waters that were too deep for him.

If those who fought for the United States or served in the military of the United States are of the belief that peaceful protest during the playing of the National Anthem is disrespectful of their service, I humbly submit they might need to revisit why they served in the first place.

Lots of living service members support the right to kneel
NFL guy with multiple tours who didn't kneel himself

And this veteran puts it pretty clearly

The last guys views are obviously valid. You can all do whatever you want. But don't get upset when Arabs burn your flag or ISIS denigrates your country and beliefs. If you won't respect it, why should anyone else.......

Yes, of course, certainly don't do your protest on national television in front of millions of viewers. It might get noticed and all that.

I believe in the right to free speech Pete and that applies just as much to Arabs as anyone else, including yours to be a WUM.

There is a long, long list of things I will be upset about ISIS for before I even think about their comments on the US.

Yea and all those who don't like it are definitely standing with hand on heart in front of the TV at home. Definitely

No you don't. If you wan't to protest politicians, you go to capitol hill or your local political hub.
If you want to protest police, you do the same. You don't obstruct police work.
Using the national anthem and flag at an non-international athletic event for commercial gain is worse according to American law than someone taking a knee, but noone bats an eye.

You're as bad as the politicians you disregard Pete, you can't just pick and choose what offends you more because it finds your agenda.

You've obviously, completely missed the point here Pete.

Right. See, because Colin Kaepernick and ISIS are comparable in so many ways...

No mate, I have no idea who Colin Kaepernick is or what he stands for. I do however, even as a Brit, have some idea what your flag and anthem mean to your people, or perhaps I should say I used to. I think you guys are ripping yourselves apart, and I've said so throughout this thread. First it was Trump, then is was the Confederates, then the Statues, and now your own flag. It's your flag, your history, your military, your beliefs......but don't start complaining when anyone outside of the USA treats your Stars and Stripes and hand on the heart with derision when you don't give a stuff yourselves....

Obviously, now perhaps you can explain it for me.......
