If this guy was a black muslim the press would tore him to shreds for golfing every weekend and leaving vital jobs unfilled or filled by wedding planners and florists.

Sure wasn't he always on twitter complaining every time Obama took a trip or was golfing yet he has played more golf in the first two months as president than Obama did in a year.

The fact he spends every weekend away at one of his own resorts which he charges the government for no doubt. I think this last weekend was the first time hes been to the sanctioned Camp David.

The 26 times Donald Trump tweeted about Barack Obama playing golf too much

It's absolute unreal the stuff that's going on over there.

*IF* there's nothing to all the Russia stuff, then it's the most smoke there has ever been without there being a fire to back it up. And IF there's nothing to it, why does it seem like no one in the administration is able to stop lying about it?

I really do wonder at what point would congressional republicans find their spine and stand up to him? Would they do it if he fired Mueller (as was floated last week)? You would think that would have to be the point of no return, but then again we should have reached that point a long, long time ago and haven't. Really is incredible what Paul Ryan and the rest will put up with to take healthcare away from poor people and give tax cuts to the rich.

Oh as a side note, has Trump tweeted about the Finsbury Park incident like he did about the last one?

No, didn't think so.

We may have to agree to disagree. I can go with "not the same process", but I can't go to "nowhere near." It's near enough. Too near.

The problem is that we have a political class that loves winning more than it loves the Constitution. We have people who go to DC and never go home pretending that they are us, and they leverage their advantage like the smart ambitious primates that they are. I believe that history will look back and judge us poorly for the decisions we've made, not just starting in 2016. It's the worst political class of our lifetimes, Legs.
"It's near though."

No it isn't.

In June and July 2009, with Democrats in charge, the Senate health committee spent nearly 60 hours over 13 days marking up the bill that became the Affordable Care Act. That September and October, the Senate Finance Committee worked on the legislation for eight days — its longest markup in two decades. It considered more than 130 amendments and held 79 roll-call votes.

The full Senate debated the health care bill for 25 straight days before passing it on Dec. 24, 2009.

The Senate debate over the Affordable Care Act lasted 25 days. This was after marathon markup sessions including, as Pear notes, the longest markup in the Senate Finance Committee's entire history. Spending that much time makes sense when you're writing a bill that will re-regulate the American health care industry, one-sixth of the American economy.

This is guess work on my part but I actually don't think he really has senate support. I think they see this as an opportunity to pass a raft of conservative judicial nominations across the country. I think the healthcare bill being hashed out in private is down to the optics of it. They saw the mess the house made of it and knowing that it will be near impossible to get Paul and Cruz onside, they are preparing for failure behind closed doors.
They want to get to Nov'18 as unscathed as possible, while sewing the country with conservative Judges.
When it comes to the house, I think Trump has a lot of support as the tea party wave of 2010 still exists. It will be very interesting to see what the SCOTUS have to say about gerrymandering.
All in all, I think we're stuck with this till Nov'18 at the earliest.
