Except now there are rumblings that Sessions might invoke Executive Privilege

It was an appalling turnout by anybodys standards. A twenty year low I bealieve. Why do you think that was? She was up against possibly the worst political candidate in the history of any major western nation and she still deservedly lost. No good pointing to the popular vote because it means nothing. People chose to stay away in droves and that was because of her. I think it's safe to say that a sizeable amount of democrat voters only voted for her while pinching their noses and trying to block Trump. She was that unpopular that millions chose not to vote for her even if it meant indirectly helping Trump, what does that say about her?
I don't disagree, she was a poor candidate. People, above all, were looking for someone who believed in their message. Clinton seemed insincere. That's why I didn't vote for her in the primary. I got the impression she'd flip on any issue if it meant she'd get elected. That's pretty damning but even still, she'd be a million times better at the job than Trump.
Watching what's unfolding here and posting about the popularity of Clinton is like watching you're house burn down and complaining about how sometimes paper gives you paper cuts.

With respect though mate her popularity is important in the winder context. If political party's think they can force anyone on us then they'll do so happily and be dammed to us plebs. It's only by results like your election and people showing the contempt for Clinton like they did will party's finally learn that what we the electorate actually matter and they'd best try and select somebody for the people rather then the party.

I think the theory is that he's trying to 25th Amendment-proof himself (though for most observers, this might fit better in the invocation folder).

It's always amusing to watch self-styled Republicans of Principle, the people who initially recoiled, now publicly contort themselves pretending they're all on board with the circus. Of course, the core supporters are still giggling at the transgressive spectacle of it all, and in no way bothered... but even then, imagine how they'd have reacted had Obama pulled these kinds of stunts!

What might a certain forum Texan, long since dosey-doed off for the safety of the sunset, have concluded had Obama, say, posed next to the despotic sponsors of climate change and Islamic terror, caressing an oversized glowing Ikea orb? These are people who foam at the mouth from mere mention of the word "global".

Anyhow, I think these things appear singular only if you don't really grapple with the actual history of the country, beyond its myths and fables.

Schadenfreude, perhaps, but these days it's the only kind of freude on offer, at least on the stupid side of the Atlantic.
