Current Affairs Donald Trump POS: Judgement cometh and that right soon

A few things:

1) Not sure if some shoving match at Middlebury college calls for the quip "rising militancy and violence." I don't agree with the regressive left's rise in censorship on college campuses, but Murray is a long-time eugenicist/racist who deserves both to speak freely, and also hear any peaceful protestations regarding his pseudo-scientific message.
2) Put down the pipe.
3) The rest I couldn't understand because, see #2

Murray is a good man, no racist (he has two children that are half-Asian) and this is an egregious slander against him. He has less use for Trump than you, and this kind of charge is exactly why you got Trump. Please reconsider. You are capable of much better than this.

He conceals his disdain for non-whites in his overt and eugenic disdain for the poor. His views are simplistic, vile, and selfish. The idea of you proclaiming he isn't a racist because he has two half-Asian children is laughable. And if you knew anything about the neo-Nazi hate groups, there is a huge (and disgusting) debate about "asians as model minority" that goes on in these forums about this pseudo-issue of "how can I be racist if my girlfriend/wife/child is (half) Asian, and Asians are good at math, blah blah blah..."

Part III of the Bell Curve is a the same psuedo-scientific racism that has been around for centuries: Blacks have low IQ and since IQ is heritable, no amount of social policies will rescue them. I'm fine with calling him out on this old racist chestnut. Murray's recent schtick is to "hide behind the science", which is basically to say "look at poor me, I'm just reporting the numbers--the reality--and for doing so, I'm labeled as racist." But this is disingenuous, since his science is poor, and his policy recommendations are selfish.

Here are some quotes by him which amount to the following: "f__k you poor people, we're done spending money on you." This is the same old eugenic and racist clap-trap that has been around for ages.

“The professional consensus is that the United States has experienced dysgenic pressures throughout either most of the century (the optimists) or all of the century (the pessimists). Women of all races and ethnic groups follow this pattern in similar fashion. There is some evidence that blacks and Latinos are experiencing even more severe dysgenic pressures than whites, which could lead to further divergence between whites and other groups in future generations.”

“You want to have a job training program for welfare mothers? You think that’s going to cure the welfare problem? Well, when you construct that job training program and try to decide what jobs they might qualify for, you had better keep in mind that the mean IQ of welfare mothers is somewhere in the 80s, which means that you have certain limitations in what you're going to accomplish.”

Only the wealthy deserve iPhones:

Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) appeared on CNN Tuesday morning to explain why obtaining health care is a matter of personal responsibility for millions of Americans, and not an area that requires government intervention.

In particular, Chaffetz said that, under the new GOP plan, poor Americans would be forced to make wise financial decisions if they really wanted to have access to health care.

“You know what, Americans have choices, and they’ve got to make a choice,” he said. “And so maybe, rather than getting that new iPhone that they just love and want to go spend hundreds of dollars on, maybe they should invest in their own health care.”

Yeah that is my guess but what is the fallback option - just straight repeal and then spend the next few months haggling on what to replace it?
I think the town hall protests are having an effect. I doubt it will be repealed without an acceptable replacement ready to go.
Under the house proposal, private insurance won't cover abortions. This will lead to huge protests.

Working in healthcare this makes me...

So far seems like no-one either on left or right likes the first draft of the healthcare bill. Going to be interesting to see how it shifts to pick up more support or whether it just dies before even leaving the House.

I really don't understand American healthcare......

We allow companies to make money off people's health. Most of them are publicly traded and therefore obligated to return ever increasing profits to their shareholders. That's all you really need to know.

It's not though is it? The Dutch system is also insurance based, but isn't anywhere near as dysfunctional as the American system.
