Where's Hampton ?

I am guessing Virginia.

We're only fifty of so days into this administration. Each day of this makes me more relieved that the election turned out as it did, and you can find several instances of me likening voting for Trump as the equivalent to eating a bug before November. I, like everyone else in the world, was as convinced of a Clinton victory as we all were in 2003 about the existence of the Iraqi chemical weapons that we only finally got to see used decades later in Syria. Shows how much we know.
There's a lot here.
Overall, you're happy about the election result? even now?
What does 'eating a bug before November' mean? Is it along the lines of 'take the nasty medicine to get better'?
Were you convinced there was or wasn't WMDs in Iraq circa 2003?
You think the Syrian regime used WMDs that Saddam previously owned?

Both Trump and Obama will at some point have to respond to the question below:

"What did the President know, and when did he know it?"
You know that Trump is now the first president to accuse a former president of a felony and he's provided no proof.
There are processes, and no matter how tedious they are, they keep the republic safe. Trump does not understand this.

Agreed. He's not the guy I would have sent into this battle.

Overall, you're happy about the election result? even now? - Yes
What does 'eating a bug before November' mean? Is it along the lines of 'take the nasty medicine to get better'? - Yes. I'm in agreement with the "Flight 93 election" thesis. Trump's not my chosen messenger, but he's delivering my message with his appointments. He still makes me cringe. Its a strange situation.
Were you convinced there was or wasn't WMDs in Iraq circa 2003? - Convinced. Chemical and crude, but yes. Saddam thought he had more and better than he did, and so did everyone else. That's what happens when you have to lie to stay alive in a dictatorship, and everybody is buying your story until its time to deliver. see: Baghdad Bob.
You think the Syrian regime used WMDs that Saddam previously owned? - What do you think? I think they'll use anything that they can get their hands on, and so will the people they're fighting against.

What appointments in particular? All of them?

Thanks for your reasoned response. I get the angle you're coming from, I disagree with it but understand it. I just think that in this case, still supporting Trump is a bit like throwing the baby out with the bathwater. To continue the medicine analogy, I feel like we're at the stage where the medicine has lead to full blown addiction. Trump supporters want the medicine no matter how severe the consequences.
On the Syrian regimes' chemical weapons, I'd look to Putin as a provider way before considering any other option.

I see Nigerians have been advised not to go to US, as ones with valid visas have been refused entry.

This is beyond daft and has been for a while.

I had an American lawyer tell me on the phone this morning that she worried about getting back in the country returning from Rome next month. She's not an immigrant either; maybe it was hyperbole, but it's an absurd state of affairs by any measure.

We're maybe not too far away in our leanings, but I don't support Trump or the GOP and I can't imagine why there isn't more clamour to remove him and let Pence run the show. That's got to be a better solution for most of those involved, it seems to me.
