I agree with you that as industry was dismantled, swathes of working class people were left behind. Both here and in the US. My issue is that Trump is part of the problem. I mean, just look at his failure to release his tax returns. Why?

- officially been sworn in as the 45th President of the United States of America, his campaign to diminish human rights came swifter than we expected. With the former reality star's team assuming control of WhiteHouse.gov, part of the presidential transition has been wiping the website of any mentions of civil rights, climate change, and healthcare. (In comparison, the site had "issues" tabs devoted to these topics under Barack Obama's team.)
Want information about climate change? Well too bad, because our new president thinks it's a conspiracy created by the Chinese government.

As some have noted, the new site is poorly written and researched, as well as underdeveloped, so it's possible that these scrubs are an oversight—plus, it's standard protocol for incoming administrations to delete all existing materials on the official site. But given Trump's divisive and inflammatory stances, it feels like the first step toward a distinctively less great America.

Why do people suddenly think we have to "wait and see" what sort of President he'll be?
We already know what sort of MAN he is, and the Presidency doesn't change people's character. In fact if anything it makes them move more towards their core self.
We knew what sort of individual he was, from his decades in the public eye. But when he announced he was going for President, people said "oh he'll be different now he's running for office".
When he ran that horrific, juvenile, racist, misogynistic Primary Campaign, all we heard was "oh well he'll be different when running in the General."
Then he was exactly the same, if not worse. Now he'll supposedly be "different now he's President - got to give him a chance".
This is a man who bragged about sexual assault. This is a man who called Mexicans rapists. This is a man who mocked a disabled reporter because he didn't like his coverage. This is a man who said there should be PUNISHMENT for women who have abortions (but not for their partner). This is a man who belittles and bullies at every turn, those who he sees as weaker than him. This is a man who has zero regard for facts and science. This is a man who cosies up to one of the world's biggest despots.
This is a man who's had all the second chances he should get.
