What's that supposed to mean? Are you doubting that? Check all my posts in the Brexit thread if you doubt that and find anything in the Trump (who I would never have voted for by the way) thread where you can show that I have right wing views (if that is what you are suggesting) rather than just wanting to give him a chance or being attracted by his economic protectionism that has some connections with socialism.

I may have misinterpreted the tone of your post but if I haven't, please don't slander me. I could give you left wing reasons for Brexit all day long (and have on the closed Brexit Thread).

Sorry if I seem over sensitive but it is not very pleasant having my views misinterpreted (though I am fine with you or anyone disagreeing with them)
I'll take you at your word, protectionism belongs in the dark ages, it serves no purpose but to artificially inflate the economy at the expense of worker, who has to hand over ever increasing taxes in support of it.

Ultimately this policy leads to unsustainable growth and it's enevitable collapse.

However in between those troughs there is the opportunity for the incredibly rich to further enrich themselves as they benefit from schemes such as Trump's planned three trillion infrastructure scheme.

EDIT: protectionism has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with socialism but it does with trade unionism

Yes, Jon, that's your mantra on here, we get it. It's just that words are cheap and everything he's done so far has put the lie to his empty rhetoric. Hopefully, one day you'll actually notice that.

He simply isn't half the man who has just walked off into the sunset.
Lol

I didn't realise just how perfectic people can be when they don't get their own way. It is adults acting like this right?. Why not just see what he does over the next 4 years instead of picking on the most trivial things and making generalisations about someone they don't really know.

Thanks for that mate (taking me at my word)

You may be right about protectionism, I don't claim to know enough about it.

I think it struck me once that when the UK needed some new train carriages built the contract was given to a French company rather than the UK company that existed at the time. Didn't seem to make sense that's all and isn't the alternative the free market globalisation that has left millions behind and led to them voting for Trump?
