Interesting thread as case has some parallels with what Trump was recently charged with.

Sorry for repeating myself but this really does sound like the plan is to have Nauta take the fall for this, as in:
i) they claim Nauta packed the boxes (which is probably something a jury can believe given Trumps evident hatred for actual work)
ii) Nauta just packed everything but wasn't supervised
iii) when the Archives started to ask Trump if he had any documents, he asked Nauta but was told he hadn't
iv) Trump believed Nauta because he is a good kid (or some such formulation) but didnt check because of his loyalty to his staff or some such crap
v) Trump communicated that out via his lawyers
vi) the FBI raided the show and found the documents proving they were in the boxes all along and Nauta lied to Trump
vii) Trump is really only guilty of standing by this working class American success story
Obviously there is other evidence that suggests all of that didn't happen, but I wonder if Nauta pleads guilty on the first day and says he lied to Trump and its his fault really whether that would throw enough of a spanner in the works for this to collapse (at least in terms of the charges against Trump).
That interview did appear to be a complete mess, but he was specific in saying (and this might be true as some of the reports of what the FBI found suggested this too) that the documents were mixed in with a load of other random things in various boxes.
