Chelsea Manning. She/he (transgender person, how do you say she or he?)

Every open-minded person says "She" since that's how she identifies. I don't doubt that even the "unsure" people are raising an eyebrow at your pathetic post, though, since it was completely unnecessary to make that comment other than to dog-whistle to fellow bigots.

"Hey, everyone! Look! A faggot!"

Whatever you think of what Chelsea Manning did, how she gender-identifies herself is utterly irrelevant and so would only ever be brought up by idiotic bigots like yourself playing to the gallery like some oily-haired, neanderthal, toothpick-chewer in an American 1950s teen drama.

And - of course, as we all know- you always did know the answer to "How do you say she or he?" didn't you?

But I grant you, having faith in a group that gave as much if not more airtime to Clinton having pneumonia as it did to Trump's massive conflict of interest liabilities (to pick just ONE of the hugely significant stories about his that were glossed over) shows what a bad state we're in.

Quite. The fact that many Chump voters went for him because he was supposed to be the "anti-establishment" candidate doesn't sit well with that fact, somehow.

*waits for penny to drop with "He's a breath of fresh air" Chumpistas*

Obama has just pardoned Chelsea Manning. She/he (transgender person, how do you say she or he?) will be released.

Why?

Obama has been sooooo concerned about cyber security lately...so why release a person whos treason makes Snowden look like a choir boy?

The issue is not one of gender or sexual orientation, but one of law and sentencing. I am led to believe that Obama has commuted more sentences than the previous 12 Presidents and of course he has another day or so to go. My concern would be that if he truly believed that a sentence for anybody was incorrect then why not commute it earlier, what is it that means that it should be done as he is walking out of the White House. It smacks of corruption and raw politics......

Because the end of a presidency is, rightly or wrongly, the time when you get to do small scale things that you think are right, but would have significant negative consequences for the rest of your agenda.

That's why every president commutes potentially controversial sentences at the end of their term - because they don't want to torpedo the other "wider scale" things they want to accomplish.

Oh Pete, do give over.

How is it corrupt?

Pete's worried about Obama - the most squeaky-clean Prez in living memory - being "corrupt."

He's totally prepared to give the lying, bullying sex-offender a chance, though.

Hmmm.

So overriding a judicial judgement (en masse) regarding treason is OK. I wonder if those whose life may have been put in danger by such revelations feel the same......

Hmmm.

I still expect Mr Squeaky Clean to absolve Hilary Clinton for any offences she may or may not have committed.........

Even Pontius Pilate wouldn't have let her off........
