I'm surprised at you, Pete. I expect this sort of thing from Finn Fan, but you?

It feels corrupt. It would not be tolerated in any other first world country.......many countries have official pardons, we do in the U.K., but only after an exhaustive judicial review with a clear and impartial recommendation......

Oh, and it's corrupt because if his wife, as now seems to be the norm in the USA, were to run for President then it could be regarded as a purely political act......
"The norm" is now something that's happened once?

Hey, on the positive side, if she DID run for office, she'd be doing so with more experience of public service and government than Trump, eh?

Excuse me? Are you saying that buzzfeed/CNN story was not fake news?

Mate, do you understand what news is? It certainly wasn't fake news. Whether the facts of the report are true or even verifiable is certainly worth discovering, but the report exists. And it was reported. So it's real. And it's news, even if it's not newsworthy.

You know a huge amount of background research etc goes into pardons in the States, right? "The Office of the Pardon Attorney" along with the Attorney General are involved, amongst others.

So Cherie Blair should be the next UK PM, or Mr Merkel the Chancellor of Germany..........

If it was obvious, surely the judge would have taken that into consideration.

Do you consider "the law" to be perfect, Pete? That it serves everyone equally and fairly, regardless of colour creed, sexual-orientation or wealth and always sees that the guilty are punished and the innocent absolved?

Do you consider "The Rule of Law" and "Ethics" to be the same thing or, at least, if not the same thing exactly then never in conflict with each other?

Or is the law not applied equally........

What does that even mean? Equally in what way? To Whom?

(...incidentally, I think we both know there is one law for the powerful and another for the Chelsea Mannings of this world, don't we?)
