Current Affairs Donald Trump POS: Judgement cometh and that right soon

Surprised they didn't see it coming, one thing about Trump is that he's consistent, consistent with the thought that he above everyone comes first. They must now realise they are collateral damage, damaged goods, they now realise they've been threw under a bus, sacrificed for the greater good, lol. No sympathy, when they've been arrested, perhaps they will then come to their senses and realise they've been conned all along, fed lie after lie by one of the most vilest, unscrupulous, selfish, vindictive, compulsive lying people in the world. Donald Trump at some time will turn on you when it suits him, that's the only truth.

Honestly, that crowd without a "leader" is actually even more scary either because of who or what might step into the void or the chaos/mayhem of them running around like a headless chicken.

I'm not so sure.

Trump managed to unify a very fractious lot that has difficulty organizing and mobilizing, which is why they were on the fringes to begin with.

I think they're more likely to splinter and become less dangerous as a result, than they are to find a new and more capable messiah.

You are more optimistic than I.
The simple fact that over a hundred elected members of Congress still objected to the election certification AFTER the riot does not give me hope.

Ultimately, all Trump did is - probably unintentionally at first as his own world knowledge must be abysmal - is captialise on a feeling that was already there.

We saw it here with Brexit and over there with the 2016 election.

If people feel they are being ignored, or their issues do not matter, then they will latch onto somebody or something telling them that they do matter, or won't be ignored.

Calling them facists doesn't help, because they by and large won't be facists. However, those facist movements have now grown and grown and again they are just using/going to use the same tactics Trump did and still does. That us against them mentality. Us against the world.

Social media has done more damage than anything else. Everything is so polarised. You HAVE to be in one camp or the other - you can't just even appear to try and see both sides of the argument, or both sides just call you out.

It'd be extremely interesting if it wasn't so sad and volatile.

Social media has, in theory, made the world more connected than ever. In reality, it's just an algorythm-based echo chamber, or a place to prove what a good and righteous person you actually are (those black squares on Instagram back in June being the perfect example - the equivalent to BLM as 'clap for carers/heroes' is to the NHS).
I think trump is a symptom, not the cause. zhe has certainly helped fan the flames, but the flames were already there.
You are bang on with the extreme polarising views, you even see it in the Everton forum where if you don't think we can win the league, then you must be satisfied with 15th place. Or if you don't think player x is rubbish, then you must be comparing him to Messi. People in general have lost the ability to see the middle ground, or recognise that something bad can have good points, and bad things can have good points.

Unfortunately, that is the world we live in now, and I don't see it returning to "normal" any time soon
