Merica, well large parts of it, have gone backwards looking at the graphs and tweets you have posted.

Sadly yes.

Testing has improved significantly so some of the bump is down to that but the increasing figures in hospitalizations and test positivity show that there is a significant increase in community spread in a lot of areas.

Thankfully not showing up as an increase in deaths broadly as currently a lot more younger people are getting it and treatment protocols have improved but fear that will not last - Arizona being a worrying case in point.

It’s all very well voting in these ‘personality, anti establishment’ types but as soon as something like this happens they are found seriously wanting. Same in the uk and Brazil. Completely unable to deal with a crisis.
Trump is unlucky in a way that this has happened now as he’d probably have gotten a second term IMO. Can’t see it now.

I've always felt that people who identify as independent in the sense of voting for "the best candidate," who may be one party or may be the other party, are deeply confused about what government is. It's an ensemble performance by definition, and if you think you're just voting for a good person, you're not: You're voting for that person's party.

The GOP could run the love child of Leighton Baines and Jesus Christ but I still wouldn't vote for him, and I love Leighton Baines.
