If she was only a president's kid and as such a private citizen I would agree. But she is an adult that she has inserted herself into a role in the government. She is fair game like any other in the administration. I'd say even more so since she has not undergone any vetting by the public or our proxy the Senate.

She wants to be left alone...get the hell out of my government.

The midterm elections say it's gonna be close. There was a massive swing by motivated democratic voters.

I mean he won by the narrowest margin in 2016.

My biggest concern for 2020 is if Trump loses, there will not be a peaceful transition of power. He won't accept the result.

Quite possibly on the first part (though by no means definite) - I wouldn't necessarily bank on the last part.

That is incredibly different from a national election that determines who becomes President and who fades away into obscurity. It's easy to say you don't accept the popular vote when you've just been made Pres. People acting like he'd lock himself in the Oval Office and refuse to leave makes me chuckle.

Incidentally I'm NEA, if there was a good candidate either republican or democrat I'd be all for them getting the job.

Who is your money on? Or who stands out amongst the candidates for you? I don't think it's set up for Biden.

I (unlike a lot in here, but in line with the polling - though not BECAUSE of the polling) think Biden might be the safest bet if it was decided that the most important thing is to beat Trump, at all costs.

In terms of who I would like to see win the nomination on the Dem side, my vote is with Elizabeth Warren. (And by that I mean my vote in the poll in the 2020 thread - sadly I don’t get a say in the election!!)

Trump will witter on about “Pocahontas” but the only people who will respond to that would never have voted against Trump anyway. Meanwhile she has coherent, progressive economic populist policies coming out of her ears (along with a compelling personal narrative to deliver them with), policies which are appealing to a broad spectrum of Dems, independents and even Republicans.
