If Ivanka had limited things to the standard ceremonial involvement I’d agree that any rudeness would have been out of place. But she and Jarad clearly want more than that so why the expectation that the ceremonial deference still applies?

I thought Lagarde was being rude tbh. Whether Ivanka should have been in the room at all is another matter, but as she is there then she is entitled to be treated in a courteous manner. Apparently she was in a room of over 100 people before they all heard speeches of which she was a keynote speaker. She had every right to be in that room and to be able to speak with whoever she wished.......
