@Moomin, I'm calling it. @St. Domingo is @SNova is @MelbourneToff

Each one of them spent all their days in the current affairs section expounding their tedious edgy ideas and pretending to be from a different part of the world. They also struggle with one particular world, which is strange since they bang on about them enough

I'd actually argue my position on immigration is the least racist position to take apart from having open boarders.

In fact, their immigration policy is the least racist policy apart from having open boarders.

Most EU countries have open boarders, and Europe is victim to terror attacks every day. Australia has strict boarder security - Australia has never had a terrorist attack. EVER.

If the rest of the world votes for left wing political correctness and open boarders that will destroy any tradition or culture that country has

Australia has strict boarder security - Australia has never had a terrorist attack. EVER.

The government spends millions on these illegal immigrants - housing them, feeding them, kids need napppies and clothing. The kids who arrive unaccompanied, who the hell is expected to look after them? Immigration officers are expected to be nannies. Republicans have put forward bills that include better funding so kids don't have to suffer but the hard left Dems, who include AOC, won't vote for it because they want open boarders. You may not like it but those are the facts, the rest of the world only cares about this story because it's another thing, in their view, to hate Trump for. Now, the real question people like you never ask is this: all the money that's spent housing and feeding people who try to enter America illegally, wouldn't that money be better spent on the poor already in the country, you know, like working class Americans who live in trailers and work minimum wage jobs, black and Hispanic Americans trapped in a cycle of poverty? Open boarders is all well and good untill you accept the fact importing lots of unskilled poor people actually hurts the poorest already here the hardest

America lets in more immigrants that any other country in the world, the numbers are ridiculous, but there has to be a system, you can't just say to rest of the world: just show up at the boarder or jump on a plane, no questions asked.

Come @St. Domingo, come forth from the grass and confess to us.

How has he caused division, what specifically has he done that's so bad where you live? What experiences do you have of that?

Trump has caused huge divisions in the USA, this is easily documented (N.B. a small division is occurring right before your eyes with your disdain for poor people and your indifference to sexual assault against women; others here find your views callous). However, speaking for myself as a white male many of those divisions and punitive Trump policies are not directed at me, but that doesn't mean I can't sympathize and be infuriated by those they do negatively affect.

He hated women that lid.
Tbf he was fine with women as long as they were at home, producing babies, rearing children and forgetting about pesky careers
Social pressure on young women to have children? If only. Have you seen our birth rates? It seems to be the opposite, forget about kids and family, only money and career matter.

I'm much more impressed by someone's family than I am about someone's career.

Men don't rear children.

I've answered your questions, stuff that has nothing to do with this thread. Answer some of mine:

Where do you live? How long have you lived there?

How has he caused division, what specifically has he done that's so bad where you live? What experiences do you have of that?

I'd like to know so I can verify this otherwise it just sounds like you're regurgitating stuff you've read on left wing sites - the very thing you say I'm doing for the other side
Left wing sites, jesus wept. As someone else pointed it out thats just called news. But i guess your hero Trump wants you to believe anything that is critical of him is fake or left leaning

Tell us what do you consider left wing press?

How has he caused division, are you serious? Where have you lived in the last two years?

Three people have asked you more than twice to answer their questions you have ignored them. In fact you gloss over every reply from everyone

I'll let the others have fun with you. Clearly your a bit thick and brain washed. Not worth wasting time on.

He has escaped from the TV show " The handmaids tale "

To be fair, and this might be semantics, but Trump hasn't caused any divisions, per se. But what he did do, and what we will eventually give him credit for, is bringing into the light these divisions that already existed and had been boiling under the surface since the advent of Big Right brought about by Rush and Gingrich in the 90s. Now we can see these people out in the open, under the light of day, rather than as just a quiet simmering angry mob hidden behind a computer screen or invisible Nielson ratings on Fox News. Now we know full well that their ilk still exists in this day and age and we need to fight for the souls of their offspring as we head into the future.

Yeah, I agree. He fomented and eventually mainstreamed the underlying racism/xenophobia in this country.

I agree with the first part, but I think the second bit does miss the point a bit.

"Trump's base" are angry for very real and in most cases entirely valid reasons - their life expectancy really is going down, the cost of living really has gone up, their job security really has gone down (a lot), their healthcare really is ludicrously expensive, their kids really are going to have it worse than they did.

Of course, they've been lied to for years (by their news media, their politicians) about why this is happening to them, that it is the fault of blacks / migrants / muslims / other countries / Democrats / gays / various conspiracies - but it has happened to them and that the problems like they experience can only ever be solved (and their votes only ever won back off Trump) by dealing with their concerns along with the rest of their class (ie: the working class, which includes black and latino populations across the US). Of course in the US the political class have played this game for centuries.

This idea that they are all racist, anti-immigrant or whatever is to buy into the propaganda that is fed to them; if a Democratic politician came along and ensured that the US working class as a whole had access to better and more stable employment, that they didn't bankrupt themselves when they got sick (or went to college) and that their kids might not be doomed to yet more poverty (as black, white and latino kids are) then you'd probably find that as a class (black and white) they were actually no more racist than anyone else.
