Agreed

Especially in this day and age of technology it should be easy for journalists to rebuttal any leader or spokesperson nearly straight away but time and time again we don't see them do this.

When they open their mouth and say something the journalist could easily fact check them or catch their lie if they used their crews to google or be ready to look up the data.

Sometimes i think especially in the US they won't because they may lose their pass to the white house or worse yet risk being fired by their bosses.

I think that is probably the biggest thing, especially when you're beat requires you to have access to powerful figures, whether in politics, sport, business or entertainment. If them removing access hurts your job, then you're not going to give them a hard time.

The man is a media machine, they can't get enough of him. Imagine the inane stories they would be chasing if Don wasn't generous enough to gift them the occasional funnie. Truly a man of the people.
