Current Affairs Donald Trump POS: Judgement cometh and that right soon

Can this be appealed? Seems ridiculously low
Mueller can appeal but unlikely to be overturned.

More likely that Mueller will now ask that the judge who is sentencing Manafort in his other trial (weird “otherwise blameless life” when you have two sentencing hearings for completely different crimes!) to make him serve whatever she gives him consecutively rather than concurrent to the 47 months.

Does the SDNY have any open investigations on Manafort?

Wouldn’t matter if he had got 99 years.

Trump will pardon him in January 2021.

Not SDNY as far as I know but Manhattan DA considering state charges

Possibly although quite a lot can change between now and then.

Trump has not historically been very loyal to those of no further use to him or paid his past debts - if I was Manafort I wouldn’t be counting on him breaking the habits of a lifetime. A conviction on state charges would also complicate things as Trump can only pardon federal crimes.

Wasn’t Judge Ellis the one who spent the entire trial (at times improperly) criticising Mueller’s lawyers, and then having to apologise for it?

Seems a pretty clear lie under oath about contacts with the Trump campaign - he can remember exactly that the meeting was about “Iran policy” but the meeting itself slipped his mind when testifying???

Now that's what we need journalists to be like. Don't let powerful people just blatantly lie. Nail the slimey sods with facts and evidence. Hold them to account for their words and actions.
