I am still struggling to see what the kids did wrong.

They acted like normal 16 ish year old kids do when older folk harangue them.

BTW....I don’t see that the Indian fellows or the Black Israelis did owt wrong either.

The whole thing looks like a jovial enough exchange anyway....with not one hint of malice nor undercurrent of potential violence that I can discern.

You see little incidents like this, teenagers and OAPs verbally sparring, on a regular basis.

To me this is the very epitome of “fake news” and it plays right into Trump’s hands.....it is a propaganda gift for him at a time when he is feeling the heat from all sides as Nancy demonstrates that his free ride on the Hill has come to a shuddering halt.

An absolutely desperate, reckless (completely and utterly reckless in this case - drawing worldwide attention to this lad and having him receive all sorts of death threats by those calm and friendly Liberals) attempt to make him look bad.

Massive own goal by the Fake News media. Don will be made up with it. I hope his next move is to invite the lad to the White House and give him some sort of award for having to go through and suffer the obvious pain that such aggressive and unwarranted attention will have inflicted upon him.

The DC video is every bit as equally politically charged as the original viral video and is part of driving the conservative outrage machine backlash against the original narrative pushed by liberal outrage machine.

Both sides do this. Conservatives were a bit out of control during Bush era and the Liberals are a bit out of control now. Both sides slant their pieces to fit their argument. The media should have never taken a chance on this story though. These are the types of fiascos that scare the living crap out of people and turn them away from your party.

Ex-congressional IT staffer sentenced to time served in loan case after prosecutors debunk conspiracy theories

A former congressional technology staffer who became the target of a litany of political conspiracy theories was sentenced to time served Tuesday for lying on a loan application as a federal judge in Washington condemned his ongoing harassment by the “highest” levels of government over unfounded conspiracies.

In releasing Imran Awan, 38, U.S. District Judge Tanya S. Chutkan read aloud passages of court filings in which federal prosecutors debunked allegations promulgated on right-leaning news sites and fanned by President Trump on Twitter that suggested Awan was a Pakistani operative who secretly compromised computer files with cover from House Democrats. Chutkan also noted that the Virginia man’s July 3 guilty plea to a felony over a home-equity loan was unrelated to his work on Capitol Hill.

Prosecutors sought no jail time for Awan, who fully repaid the $165,000 loan within 30 days in 2017 before he knew he was under investigation for falsely claiming that a rental home was his wife’s main residence.

Chutkan noted “an unbelievable onslaught of scurrilous media attacks to which he and his family have been subjected,” as well as harassment and threats that “will probably continue some time” over the Internet and social media.

Without naming the president, Chutkan said, “There have been numerous allegations . . . accusations lobbed at him from the highest branches of the government, all of which have been proved to be without foundation by the FBI and the Department of Justice.”

In sentencing Awan to time served — which was one day in detention and 11 months of GPS monitoring — plus three months’ supervision, Chutkan concluded: “The court finds Mr. Awan and his family have suffered sufficiently.”

I never said for a moment that they committed a crime, and OBVIOUSLY death threats etc (if they genuinely exist) are reprehensible... but “completely innocent” is a stretch, unless we’re now ok’ing any behaviour that isn’t illegal.

Actually, not just ok’ing that behaviour, but rewarding it with a trip to the White House and an award, no less!!

In terms of stupid things that don’t matter (like this fiasco), yes. They are out of control. I am in no way referencing the reaction to Trump era policies, etc.

It sounds dumb, but many voters went to the dark side because of PC culture.

I don’t think the kids are completely innocent, but they are KIDS. CNN had the nerve to put the boy’s face on their website without blurring it out. I saw this story from CNN. I can only imagine other people saw the CNN story and jumped to conclusions without watching the whole clip.
