It’s high profile trainwrecks like this from the media which makes me think plenty of undecided voters will vote for trump again. There are so many legitimate things you can criticise trump and his fans for that it bemuses me why they would resort to stuff like this.... desperation and clicks I guess.

Are we saying if he’s not a Vietnam vet then it’s ok to get in his face and mock him like that when (if you watch the full 90min video, rather than clips from The Daily Caller) he stood where he did to try to stop the MAGA kids from encroaching further towards the Black Israelite group (who btw didn’t move an inch from their position)?

We’re saying the media should do some basic fact checking before jumping on the bandwagon and making reports based on edited video clips uploaded to social media. The kids did not get up in his face either, he walked towards them, started banging a drum and they moved back from him apart from the smug face kid who stood his ground.

FYI that elder said said the kids shouted "Build the Wall" - the video shows they didn't, he lied.

He said they approached him, the video showed he walked up to them, he lied.

He said the kids were attacking the Black Israelites, the video shows they weren't, he lied.

He said the kids acted "beastly" to the Black Israelites, the video shows they didn't, he lied.

The kids biggest crime in this is being obnoxious teenagers and wearing a MAGA hat.

Meanwhile literally no one bothered to try and dox or report on the black Israelites who abused just about everyone in the video. When they called a black convington kid an “Uncle Tom”, “Coon” and “N*****” the kids rallied behind their fellow pupil... something which was completely ignored as it didn’t fit the narrative of them being racist.

If that’s not what we’re saying then who cares? The media gets far more right than it gets wrong when it comes to Trump-related stuff, but unfortunately their penchant for self-flagellation (along with the right wing apparatus’s appetite for magnifying every error) means that the error becomes the focus, even when the majority of the story was right.Journalists make mistakes. Always have, always will. They also get wilfully conned from time to time. Always have, always will. Ask Dan Rather.

So because they get most stuff right we should give them a free pass when they get stuff wrong ? Mate they plastered a bunch of kids/minors faces all over the media for the world to see and pushed a false narrative to make them look like the second coming of hitlers youth. They deserve to be pulled up on it, it’s massively irresponsible.

To be fair I do kinda think you’ve got to be a bit of a tw@ to wear that hat but being a bit of tw@ isn’t a crime and definitely isn’t justification for having the media and twitter try and ruin your lives... especially when you’re a kid who goes to a catholic school and has no doubt been brought up by conservative parents, you’re a product of your environment and all that. It’s not like they are old enough to have developed their own nuanced political views.

I think what we need to do here, to ensure justice is served, is bombard the school with threatening emails, create a vicious online witchhunt and publish the boy's name and all of his family details online, contact sponsors of the school to let them know they support racist white boys who taunt minorities, and we should also probably ensure the media plaster his face on their front pages so that the whole world is aware of the disgusting crimes he's committed. If they get anything wrong, no problem, the media makes mistakes sometimes, right?

No, quite the opposite, they only came about after the full unedited video surfaced. Prior to that everyone was on the elders side and had believed all the comments he made to the media, most of which were later proven to be false after the unedited video surfaced.

Yes they are obnoxious teenagers, no ones denying that but millions of teenagers around the world make crap edgy jokes every single day. I’m fairly sure I said some dumb stuff when I was 15 or 16 as well.

I mean that’s all this story is really, some kids being obnoxious and because they had the MAGA hat on it went viral. Take away the MAGA hat and there is no media interest or story.
