It's pretty funny if you watch back Trumps victory speech....watch Pence standing behind him.....Trump goes through a long list of everyone who was part of his campaign team thanking them, and Pence is just clapping along waiting for his turn to be acknowledged.....waiting and waiting....poor guy....then Trump finishes up still without mentioning him...finally he turns around and notices that Pence actually exists, and gives a quick awkward thank you lol

I think its pretty safe to say(as an american), from reading some of the comments on here, that most of you have as much of a clue about americans, american politics, culture, and what they actually think/believe/are like/ as I do about Brits, which is to say, not much. I also tend to see much like in America, its the loudest ones that usually know the least, but think they know the most!

They are the same about football mate.

Have you seen the real issues Europe is now facing allowing unfettered access to their borders in the name of humanitarian reasons?
Have YOU?

No you haven't, you've read a few articles in your right wing press mate, that's what you've done.

That's fine mate, like I said everyone has their own reasons, i just find it hard to see how someone who *does* follow the same politics as someone like trump, or is a Tory or whatever can relate to Everton football club, that's all.

Im not sure why it would shock you, both football and americans are very popular in America, and Everton have had both. If that shocks you I dont think you understand much...

Having played an integral role in creating the crisis and then perpetuating it by not reacting correctly.

Again; we are cursing the outcome and not scrutinising the causes of Trump's election / Brexit. We give to foodbanks, we commemorate atrocities, but we fundamentally have refused to look into why we have let these things happen. You see it in here - 'Don't blame me, I didn't vote for him'. No-one cares; but we all helped foster an environment where it was allowed to occur.

Totally agree where at least part of the blame lies - I'm not a denier of our culpability due to foreign policy disasters.

Having said that Europe at least is doing as much as it can to alleviate the resulting humanitarian mess without necessarily looking to address the causes.

I dispute strongly that no-one cares. I also think your point about foodbanks is rather strange - what else are good meaning people meant to do other than provide charity to fill the void caused by inadequate social care provision? We can argue that they/we should spend our time changing the system but at the same time there's an immediate need that needs fulfilling.
