Donald Trump for President Thread

Aye. How come there were no people or media outlets actively trying to devastate Trump's campaign?
Because they never took him seriously?

No idea if that is true, but from my perspective over this side, all signs was pointing to a clinton win. Overwhelming support from polls to celebrity endorsements to even just the message the country carried of 'don't vote for trump'

That's the thing. His detractors dismiss anything agreeable he says as lies, and any mental thing he says as a direct threat. He just riffs. Pretty clear he has no intention of trying to put Hillary in jail. Frankly, nobody has an effing clue what the man intends to do

Yeah exactly. I think he will probably be crap. But at the end of the day I've no idea what will happen. And I'm a bit bored of some who call anyone they disagree with a fascist.

The thing is, they weren't. The problem has been parties refusing to recognise the good candidates they had. The DNC practically canvassed for Hillary, and Ron Paul was done out of his chance at a nomination under equally spurious circumstances 4 years ago

But again mate, that is part of the issue. The system - of which Trump is ultimately a product - made these two the candidates. And people are suggesting that this very system could ultimately have thrown up the real solution to the world's problems? Sure, like a billion chimps on typewriters eventually writing Shakespeare.

@ToffeeDan
Fourthly for Clinton not having the gumption or humility to put Sanders on her ticket

Absolutely. This would have been a demonstrable willingness to embrace change, rather than slyly assimilating his policies to try and bribe his support base.

All those big celebrities must have been shocked to discover that their opinions meant absolutely nothing LOL

TBF those endorsements probably boosted Clinton to the point where she only just lost. If this had been a fairer fight - in terms of media support, endorsements, funding etc - the defeat would have been even worse (if that is possible).

I was being sarcastic Ash. It was a reference to the almost unanimous media bubble that negatively covered Trump's every move and insulated people from the scary idea that he may actually become president

It will give Corbyn some confidence and ideas of how to play the media if a snap election is called next year.

Nope. It's one of the reasons she lost.

Multi millionaire feckless celebs patronising the working class for votes was never a good strategy

Jay Z must feel great right now x

Do you know what, he's a great example. Worked himself up from absolutely nothing by sheer hard work, talent, determination and truly representing his surroundings on the way up.

Then he writes crap like Big Pimpin' on a massive boat, while all those positive female role models in his videos gyrate wearing not very much. But hang on, Trump and his gang of miscreants are threatening to derail this recently (and rapidly) garnered megawealth.

Product and end result.
