Im confused by this post, because I've already answered your point, and in the very message you quoted. The real question is, why do you feel there is absolutely no need for screening given the terror attacks carried out in Europe?

Because I'm not cowed by extremely isolated incidents. I'm infinitely more likely to be killed on my bike cycling around London than I am by any terrorist attack. It's a completely non-issue, and certainly for vast swathes of the country.

Both were extremely bad choices, the only positive is hopefully it will strengthen the relationship with Russia as opposed to Clinton which would have made it worse.
People living in the former soviet block will be delighted with that. They should probably be worried, particularly those on the Baltic sea. The US has just done a huge amount of damage to its soft power by electing Trump, even if he doesn't carry out his election promises.

The last census would be 2011?

I won't argue with the numbers, but I can only tell you that in the local area, there are plenty of immigrants, plenty of ethnic minority groups.

They tend to be in certain areas - the poorer areas - and segregation is an issue here. maybe that is the course of the issue more than immigration itself - well in fact I'm sure it is - segregation.

Those numbers have surprised me. Having lived in the area for 16 years, I would have thought it would have been slightly higher.

Aye, it's the latest figures so it's quite possible that it's changed since then.

Is it all about terrorism though? There's plenty of other concerns, economically, logistically and culturally, that come with unchecked immigration

Amen. People should read about the 1970s, when bombings, kidnappings, hijackings etc happened almost every day. and we pretty much just carried on. this sort of thing often didn't even make the front pages of newspapers. This story, for instance, was reported on page 3 of the New York Times! (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Essex)

it happens vastly, vastly less often now, and we get hysterical about it, which is a sort of complicity, and which makes us extremely prone to manipulation and bad political judgement. more americans in the US are killed every year by furniture than terrorists.

I think it's mostly a matter of record now that Bin Laden's stategy hinged on the certainty that we'd respond by doing something monumentally stupid
