December fixtures, 21 points going

Realistically none of our games are clear 3 points. We gamely step up against the top 6 and manage a draw at best. Then we don't have the skills to press home our advantage against the worst teams in the league and end up drawing or losing when they go ahead.

We need a forward, a replacement for walcott (look man worth a try), and a new RB.

...... Of course, we'll now beat Man City, and in six months' time it will be looked back on as a pivotal moment in the PL title chase as the RS claim the title.

Classic Everton.

I would normally be worried about such events..

But I'm totally not this time round.

City will Have to have a bounce back, else they will be playing catch up in the league.

It's going to be a goal fest

Cynicism aside, I agree. City will be chomping at the bit this weekend. And with us being a bit fragile currently, I'm fearing the worst (results-wise for Everton, at least).

I dont wanna be a negative nancy, I really dont, but with 2 very tough games to come and then 2 away games, we COULD, COULD be as low as 13th by the time Leicester rock up at Goodison on News Year day.

This place will be unbearable.

Unless there is a noticeable turnaround, it's looking like we won't be good enough for 6th, even with Man United's awful season. We're well placed for the "best of the rest" challenge though and that would represent a solid first season from Silva, providing we continue to try and play good football as we have been trying all season. Next season is where we will need to push on.

Something i've noticed though is we must have had the hardest fixtures so far in the league. After City on Saturday, we will have played the entire current top 10 all away from home with the exception of Spurs. We all know our away form is poor.

We need to pick up 4 points from Burnley and Brighton away, otherwise we could find ourselves in the bottom half going in to the New Year. I'd expect us to bounce back but it's harder when morale is down and the fanbase is then visibly frustrated at Goodison.

You mean after the one game they've leapfrogged us in, they're now considered it as "going away". Jesus christ.

I'd expect them to gradually pull away from us now unless we gain some points back that we've lost recently. To keep up with them over December, we'd need to get a shock win vs City or Spurs, and get 4 from Brighton and Burnley.
