David Unsworth appreciation thread

I'd say Unsy has the cred to pull that off though. The biggest gripe with Koeman is he seems to try and find reasons not to play the lads until he's forced to.

Personally I'm looking forward to the day when Unsy is in charge and runs out 11 homegrown players each week and we win the league.
Noticed RK sent most of his team out on loan - still battles on - no moans just plays good solid football - I enjoy watching the under 23s - hard game tonight though - don't think we would win another title again this year with the depleted squad he has!

Just urging a bit of caution should it ever happen mate.

It’s a massive massive step up. But we all hope he could do it of course.

I firmly believe that the day we appoint Unsworth as manager we will have officially accepted the reality of our second rate status. It will set the seal on a decline which began with the appointment of another former player, Bingham. Kendall's all to brief glory years will be seen as the final guttering of a once glorious flame.

Agree, but even more experience managers struggle at times, like the current gaffer. Football is football though. And if you take the burden of having to do the transfer stuff, as in our current set up, he could concentrate on the football stuff. I think the man knows the game, and is passionate about Everton, and he knows the young players inside and out.

I try not to diss managers too much but it would be nice to have a manager who actually likes Everton.

I think I’d just rather have low expectations of Unsworth and him exceed all of them than expect him to be amazing and then fall even a bit short.
