2025/26 David Moyes

I forget who the player was and possibly they played for Manchester United. They mentioned that all the team felt that David Moyes tactical knowledge was horrendous and they used to just ignore him and play the way they wanted to.

He's just a Rover 75 in a world of EVs

I honestly would rather we just move on from him at this point. There’s a section of fans that are just not having him and will never have him, and were never going to have him from day 1. He wouldn’t have been here if the former manager had just managed to be remotely competent for one more season. The discourse around him is so monumentally boring at this point I just want it to be over.
Just online chatter.

Their was a funny watch earlier on sky sports where they were asking a bunch of managers different questions about outside of football, some very funny responses, all managers ( including Moyes ) looking really happy and laughing.

Takes your mind off the stress of football, when you see that side of Managers.

Tho I havent got a link, so this is a Pointless post.. But if somehow you do bump into it, than give it a watch..

Daniel Farke - Takes 4 showers a day, who'd of thought it.. the sweatiest bloke ive ever seen..

Eddie Howe - took what felt like about 10mins to remember he had a family.

Regis Le Bris - the first thing i do in the morning is kiss my dog ( he forgot to say his wife and had to come back to it )

I could go on, but I'm just waffling again now, it was funny, rather than a frustrating watch..

Here's another quote to add to that list, mate:
Brendan Rogers 01.webp

And some want this tactical 'genius' to be our next gaffer. šŸ™„

Thats why he wasn't included, what a self entitled git..

Whereas the general managers are just you and me, but they're stuck in the hottest seet out their, and judged on every single thing they do.

Of course they can be seriously frustrating, but seeing the human side of them at times is nice..

As for People like Rodgers, he is what widens the gap between fans and managers.

Oh, and as for Arteta, that bloke is definitely a Bot, he is so structured to everything he does, he even farts at a set time of day..
AI was definitely created from time spent with him..

Beto showed last season that he can do pretty well in the right set up. Then again, perhaps people have got wise to him. Barry is way too early in his innings to tell.
Is the set up so different? Nine games in and neither of them are showing any real threat. Dibling on the right and Ndaiye through the middle or playing a free role might show results, but then we'll never know.

That’s the world we live in though. 90% of football discussion takes place online, not down the pub with Barry and the lads. Match going fans also have access to the internet and I’ve observed not just on here, but other platforms, that there’s a significant enough portion of the fan base that just aren’t having him regardless of our results on the pitch. I even saw one student of the game on here saying that they wouldn’t accept top 10 and we basically need to qualify for Europe. We have no striker, no full backs, and our best centre back is out for the season. We finished 13th last season and really haven’t strengthened the team after a shambolic transfer window.

Personally I just want an end to the toxic divide within the fanbase. No idea if removing Moyes will settle this, but at the minute we’re lost as a football club and going around in the same circles we’ve been going around for the past decade. It really feels like nothing has changed. I’m grateful for the job Moyes did in arresting the tailspin that the former manager had us in, but realistically everyone knows he’s not a long term appointment as it is and that is feeding into the noise.

Zero manager is coming in and not having his doubters/detractors - some wanted Carlo gone remember.

If you want to sack a manager because a part of the fanbase (definitely online) doesn't want him we may as well never hire another manager again.

Well they are definitely concerns I have, yes. No idea if there’s a manager out there realistically that could actually unite this fanbase. It’s very possibly too far gone, with the battle lines already drawn and sides already picked. What I do know, is that keeping Moyes forever isn’t going to resolve it.

I dont want him gone, just cos we're be digging back at that grave with a rushed appointment..

But everything your saying about the fanbase is right..

Too much of the fan base have been brought up or gotten used to binning the manager every time, they don’t get a flake in their cone.

It’s never been our way.

We’ve just come out of close to a decade, binning managers every year, wasting countless millions summer after summer, from manager to manager, that almost brought the club to oblivion and have become a joke club because of it. With recovery (and this is part of it) only begining.

How anyone can say doing that whole dance again is the answer - just defies basic functional reasoning (not you mate). It’s like the last 9 years haven’t happened.

We’ve lost two games and the old dysfunctional patterns reemerge.

No.

We've made our bed for this season. No pace, no attack from the full backs,it if they do attack the opposition let them because they know they can't cross or shoot. Two ageing centre halves meaning we can't press the opposition properly. Central midfielders who rarely run past the strikers to create space. When you have those limitations you need a manager who can organise a team and make it hard to beat, and Moyes is definitely one of those. It'll never be exciting, but until we recruit the players who can change the way we play we're stuck with it. The alternative this season could well be relegation, and at this point that would be a big backwards step considering we can't attract players in our current situation.
