2025/26 David Moyes

It's not that really, it's just that the money involved in the PL means this is now a much, much stronger league than the others. The Europa League had the teams that finished 3rd in Serie A, 3rd and 4th in Ligue 1, 5th in La Liga, 4th in the Bundesliga, the champions of Portugal etc, that's not a bad standard at all in theory.
And yet people keep telling me the standard in the Prem is absolutely terrible..

Keane made 33 appearances in the Premier League last season, and last Summer it was said he'd be 4th choice and not play much. He'll play in the EFL cup as well, so we'll go out of that early no doubt. 10 years and about £80m over that time in fees and wages, and for what return? He could be the worst signing P4P we've ever had. And Moyes gave him a new contract.

We’ve renewed him three times. Welcome to the modern Everton.

Whats the correlation between Moyes 2nd half of his final season at West Ham shipping 3, 4, 5 and 6 goals rather frequently after blowing £400mil+

And...

West Hams inability to replace him with a new manager?

Oh and remember Moyes wasnt sacked. They simply removed his overlord levels of power on transfers due to the massive losses they were incurring under him.

I’ve no idea what you’re talking about mate.

I said he was right, when he said West Ham may fail to replace him successfully. They were relegated in two seasons.

Are you saying they replaced him successfully - that’s a bit mad Ted.

Was the game v Spurs rigged?

here is a theory, Moyes wanted West Ham to go down 2 reasons
1 the way he got to leave them their fans couldn't wait for him to go
2 he now has the pick of their players

Going back to the spurs game, why did he start Barry, knowing he will offer nothing going forward?
this gave Spurs the chance to play further up the pitch
2 why did he take to the 83rd minute to bring Beto on, he never leaves subs that late?
3 The opening minute of the game we got a corner, James Garner has been taking good corners all season, a chance to put them right under pressure, no he passes backwards to KDH and it comes to nothing.
4 we had no shots all game until George in the 88th minute, this against a team fighting for their lives.

if it was not rigged and that was a genuine performance, then Moyes needs booting into touch
Don't you think he needs booting if it was rigged?

What was the excuse for Sunderland at home? Which was also about as potent as a gerbil fart.

They could have thought Europe would be a detriment to their league position and risk being in a relegation battle again with the way the squad is or could possibly be next season? I am not saying that’s the case of course, although I would not be surprised given the small time thinking as the athletic hinted at that kind of thinking for anything beyond conference league.

Finish 6 places below Sunderland and this guy and the owners think it was a success.

Then give new contracts to Keane and Myko.

Honestly, just delete the club, it’s become like Burnley or something. Can’t be bothered anymore.
I must admit Macca with the thought of another turgid Moyes season ahead my interest in the club is dwindling

This theory would carry more weight if we weren't already terrible for weeks

That's not the yardstick. Sunderland had an uexpectedly good season - it's a bit like moaning 10 years ago that we'd finished behind Leicester when they won the league.

The only way contracts for Keane and Mykolenko make sense is if money is needed elsewhere and (in Mykolenko's case in particular), signings are made to ensure they're squad players rather than first choice.

My concern is that we saw how long Moyes was happy with Hibbert at right back - I'm not so sure that he won't see Mykolenko as a reliable member of the first team

It’s not really the same is it, as Leicester won the league and Sunderland finished 7th..

Use whatever yardstick you like, being satisfied with 13th, especially where we were, just isn’t good enough.
