2025/26 David Moyes

Not sure we understand what “competent” means as a football club, when we actually gave Michael Keane a pay rise AND extend his contract!

Moyes could also have moved JOB to his proper position and played a proper right back that we have on the books, but that wasn’t really tried either.
He reminds me of an old school teacher who will not admit when he is wrong. He has made many feck up's this season (Team selections, playing players out of position etc) but will just plod on thinking he is the best man for the job !!

That conference european trophy level was absolutely muck let's not kid ourselves and similar to how easy Villa had it winning the Europa. Now you don't have the 'champions' league drop outs and with that competition being ridiculously bloated the 2 other European competitions have no quality in them at all now
It's not that really, it's just that the money involved in the PL means this is now a much, much stronger league than the others. The Europa League had the teams that finished 3rd in Serie A, 3rd and 4th in Ligue 1, 5th in La Liga, 4th in the Bundesliga, the champions of Portugal etc, that's not a bad standard at all in theory.

He is becoming Dyche imo - supreme ego. Maybe that’s why he’s got the gig with talkshite over the summer.

I get the feeling he thinks we are very fortunate to have him as our manager.

Tbf to Keggers he did exceed many expectations this season, but - for the love of all that's holy - the CB partnership of him and Tarks together should never see the light of day again.
Those MK expectations being lower than a snakes belly, but I take your point.

For me, even contemplating giving Keane a pay rise and new deal sums up our celebration of mediocrity though - he’s been garbage his whole Everton career - we bleed goals whenever he plays, he should have been punted last summer, if we were a serious football club.

Plus, we all know that we will have injures again and the Tarks/keane cb pairing will crash and burn and Moyes will just stand on the touchline rapid blinking in confusion when it does, before subbing Barry for Beto.

It will do. Because we won’t buy another CB this summer, and unless we get a prem proven right back that stays fit OBrien will still be at right back. Branthwaite is then just one injury from the chuckle brothers starting every game again.

Giving Keane and Mykolenko screams of mediocrity. Both are comfortably in bottom quartile in their positions in the league.

Keane made 33 appearances in the Premier League last season, and last Summer it was said he'd be 4th choice and not play much. He'll play in the EFL cup as well, so we'll go out of that early no doubt. 10 years and about £80m over that time in fees and wages, and for what return? He could be the worst signing P4P we've ever had. And Moyes gave him a new contract.
