2025/26 David Moyes

I’d expect the time commitment to be much higher than a couple of hours every other day, I’d assume it won’t just be time he is on screen but research, briefings etc.

I think it shows a lack of commitment and professionalism to Everton myself. The only current other Premier league manager doing it is Brighton’s I think.
Its actually a bit surprising tbh
He should be pouring over various stats about the season, looking for potential coaches to add those small margins(we only ever hear that said as an excuse) and planning a productive preseason schedule.

He's acting like a retiree imo

Was the manager of Bodo glimt ‘scared’ of the champions league when they qualified? Obviously not as he embraced it and they have a 50% win rate in the competition. Bodo glimt ffs!!

Moyes is a joke.
I've got no time for Moyes as a manager anymore (I do think he did a generally good job in his first stint for us and last season), but as a couple of others have said, I don't get the vitriol.

When I see that clip about the champions league I honestly think he means he feels like shaking as in he'd be excited about it, not that he's scared. Maybe I'm being too generous but that was my initial reading of it

He’s knows he’s on the clock, he was never long term, he’s was never first choice and he’s incapable of delivering a style of football that matches the opportunities the new stadium presents.
He’s prob getting £350k+ for 5 weeks work when he’s not 100% sure if he’ll get an extension at Everton yet.

Yea good points
He's also still getting paid by Everton though!
Maybe TFG are happy with it, being in the US?

I get what you’re saying, but I honestly believe the ‘shudder’ he made was in reference to it’s ‘just too big for us at this time.’

He may of course be right (with the squad we have), but it’s the negativity, the fear. He would be under pressure to buy better players, to shuffle his squad between the league, the cups and the champions league. I think he feels it would be too much for his back to basics approach to football in general.

I just think it’s a public airing of his mindset. He’s always thinking of the consequences of losing rather than the spoils of victory. Too many of our recent managers have this trait and it’s time we ridded our club of this lack of ambition. He did a job at the end of last season and then succumbed to his stubbornness and fear when it mattered most this season.

It’s why I want him gone.
