2025/26 David Moyes

Hindsight once again.

The players gave up on him, so why would they suddenly pick up a great run of form if we kept with him.
You're blaming points lost because of Keane, the name means nothing, we lost points. you can't go backwards and remove him and add the points on.

You can't look now and use the fact the relegated teams would have saved us because you didn't know that than.

You are creating scenarios.

They’re not created scenairos if they happened.

I wasn’t worried because the three teams below us were trash. They were trash, that was proven. We’re supposed to pretend they weren’t so we can remove hindsight? That’s inventing a scenario. Every man and his dog knew those teams were toilet.

And yes 2-0 up to Villas and Michael Keane ducks under a ball for no reason giving them a free header before half time. I do blame him, those first four games were possibly the worst centre back performances ive seen at Everton.

So long since Everton played attacking free-flowing passing footie. It is nonsense to suggest this is not the 'everton way' as people do. Of course it is. We just never recruit a manager with this philosophy. Certainly not the philosophy of Moyes, so get rid.
It was the Everton way a few decades ago but now the Everton way is playing negative football but being happy because your centre back puts a strong challenge in. Its won us nothing and we need to change it.

If I go to the bookies next season in december and ask if I can put a bet on the final league table placings but not actually hand in my prediction until the final game had finished, What do you think they would say ?

Hindsight cannot be used, it's not reality to the time.

I wasn't questioning how bad Keane was I said that it had already happened so it can't be reversed.

I’d expect the time commitment to be much higher than a couple of hours every other day, I’d assume it won’t just be time he is on screen but research, briefings etc.

I think it shows a lack of commitment and professionalism to Everton myself. The only current other Premier league manager doing it is Brighton’s I think.
The rest are all on holiday. He’ll be watching a lot of potential signings to be fair.

I thought the whole season that the teams below us weren’t very good. That’s why I wasn’t worried about relegation. You can’t then say I should have been worried because I didn’t know that they were going to turn out to be rubbish. Some people were worried these teams would pick up in form, that’s fine, I wasn’t worried, I thought we had enough to stay up.

It’s a game of opinions and I was more worried about relegation in two of the previous seasons than I was at any point last season. If others think differently then so be it.

I wouldn't ever try and tell you that you were worried, because I wouldn't have a clue.
It's just the whole use of 'Hindsight' that get's me.

Just watched a podcast featuring Bruno Fernandes. You don't need to be 8ft tall and 4ft wide to play in the prem. Just skill and attitude. Moyes is such a simpleton, marginal Dyche upgrade. Needs to go, at least Dyche had the decency to recognise his time was up.

A manager ‘scared’ to qualify for the champions league.

That’s the mentality of our current manager.

In other words, The champions league is way out of his comfort zone. He’s admitting that his brand of football would be shown up as the stone-age dirge he serves up every week.

He is a coward and his own words prove it. Safety first at all costs. Boring, predictable football that belongs in the dark ages.

Scared to qualify for the champions league as that would mean pressure to buy good, progressive, exciting footballers who would not fit in with his cowardly defensive football.

Get out of our club you fossil.

I will say I don't want Moyes here at all but I kinda don't get the vitriol. Sure, Dave has his reasons. But he's not Benitez, he's not Dyche, he's not FSA. He's just a very good but very very limited manager that we've seen for over 15 years at this point. We know his ceiling, he's gotten MORE cautious since last year, he still thinks he's the saviour of te club (could be argued he is for the first go round) etc.

Don't want him managing the team as he's way too defensive, never changes his mentality or ideas, is awful with squad rotation and in game management and prioritizes "experience" over youth much to the detriment of said youth.

I don't think we're a million miles away from a good side but, with Moyes, I think we're a million miles away from anything with him still in charge.

Agreed.
It would be nice to say thanks and wish him well. Nothing personal against him for most fans I think.
