But in the context of a discussion about us being happy with this season because we didn't have to worry about relegation all season you can only factor in the points deduction if you also make allowances for how we'd have felt if we'd had 8 points deducted this year. Seeing as that would have seen us finish 2 points clear of West Ham you'd have to say it's maybe not something people making that argument really want to introduce to the conversation.But the points deductions happened, and we'd taken nine points from the previous 15 games and had just been absolutely smashed by Chelsea. If anyone didn't have a single worry about relegation that season then they have a legitimate superpower.
It's annoying that the BBC can't show the table on old match reports anymore, I find tables on this date pages often get the points deductions mixed up. If anyone can confirm how close we were to the relegation zone before the Forest game...
We were 2 points ahead of Luton prior to the Forest game, with a game in hand and much better goal difference.
