2025/26 David Moyes

I don't hear the mood music either - but that's because they don't care and are incompetent.

Among fans - including many arch-Moyesettes - the mood has changed.

It's time to go.

I just don’t take people who’ve changed their mind seriously to be honest, there are many posters here who didn’t want him here before he came back, then did when he was appointed, then canonised him last summer, loved him for the majority of the season, now hate him again.

A lot of people just react to results and or popular public opinion - to be fair there is a small minority on here who were a dissenting voice on Moyes all the way through and while as you know I’m 100% a Moyes fan boy - as much today as ever - I admire those dissenting lads as they have stuck to their opinion with conviction when it wasn’t popular.

@davek - took an awful lot of personal abuse and now look, everyone it seems agrees with him (except me) :p

Yeah just watched. So stupid of him - I mean surely he’s frustrated too?! He really needed to end the season with a bit of empathy, rather than looking out of touch. Any leader who stops understanding the hopes and aspirations of the people won’t be the leader for long, will they?
I hate to even think it, let alone say it but I'm getting Benitez vibes from him in a 'you're lucky to have me' kind of way.
That is disturbing

And so the season ends.
An awful season if you ask me.
Every time there was a glimmer of hope the manager would snuff it out.
It almost harkens back to the Dyche days where when the team did well, you knew they were ignoring his instructions.
Benitez/Lampard/Dyche/Moyes (at least lampard tried his best with a bad lot).
Thats what, four years of dross from managers.
Just appoint a world class manager. Throw money at it.
I'm sick of this crap.
On the plus side atleast there's no "where's the moyes out crowd" shouts when everton get a point (for another 8 weeks anyway)

We couldn’t find any value in the market but watched them sign better defenders than we have, better midfielders than we have, a better forward than we have, and a top class keeper.

Would be great to have a good transfer window just once. Can’t remember the last time we did.
Martinez first season for me. All the loans had lots of heads falling off too that added to the fun

It is absolutely ridiculous to 'stick to your opinion' when your opinion has started looking very wrong and even more ridiculous to look down on those that have the courage to admit they might've got it wrong after all.
Very weird flex boasting you're a 100% fan boy that doesn't react to new information. Thats cult behaviour

Never changed my opinion, yesterday's man.

But results are important!

And I think many would even accept the poor results if there appeared to be a plan - developing young players for instance or an enjoyable style of play.

But we just seem to put out the same team even when not performing and then switch between Barry and Beto based on a coin toss.

Sticking to opinions is only the right thing to do if the facts stay the same

If everyone stuck to their original opinion, every team would appoint 1 manager and they would have a job for life until they retire, and the results would be irrelevant.

Moyes did a good job last year and I dont think many would disagree. This year the aim was top half and or a decent cup run and we've failed on that. I dont see how anyone can say Moyes did a good job when we gained 1 point and finished 13th.

It would be bizarre for people not to have altered opinions after a poor season ending in a terrible run of form.

If I were him, I'd get up on Monday morning and find the best young coach in Europe to come and assist me. The Moyes who came to us from Preston appointed Irvine even though he hardly knew him because he wanted the best coach. Alex Ferguson rejuvenated himself every few years by bringing in top coaches from different footballing cultures. Howard Kendall had the humility to respond to a crisis by bringing in Harvey as his new assistant and letting him actually change the way the team played. Moves like these are strengths not weaknesses. The worry is that the Moyes of today doesn't have that humility or ambition anymore. That he's become like Dyche, fears the new and would rather surround himself with old mates and yes men. Prove me wrong Dave!

'When the facts change, I change my mind - what do you do, sir?'
