2025/26 David Moyes

I've just read this article and I genuinely don't understand the premise of it. There's just a load of criticism of Ancelotti for some reason and the defence of Moyes seems to be he celebrated goals more than Carlo

Honestly I was a bit lost reading it
He's a weasel who would've sucked bill kenwright off had he been given the chance.

Using ancelotti as a comparison to moyes is embarrassing. Ancelotti ran for the hills because of the mess the club was in and because of the bizarre "league of gentlemen" culture, which this ferret has contributed to for 20 odd years.

Is he not part of the committee? Also the optics alone are terrible, surely his focus should be 100% on Everton given the huge salary he earns
Suppose he is but I'm not sure he'd be the one doing negotiations, I'd hope not anyway.
I hope Baines is on it as I think he will be the one to take over in the end.

A plan can be in place for the transfer window long before the season finishes.
Let Moyes go to the world cup and watch every game possible. He may come back with new ideas (joking).

Am I alone in being appalled by this? Coming off a disastrous end to the season and 2 poor transfer windows, rather than focussing on recruitment plans for the summer he's off on a paid jolly? Why do we pay him £6m a year for him to take a second job, it's taking the proverbial.
It's one of those where it's about the optics. if you're in a good place then people will be less bothered and if you're in a bad place like we are then people will be annoyed.

True, but to me it's indicative of his self centred approach; all is not well but instead of putting the head down he's off double jobbing. Not like he's not paid enough, feels like he wants the platform for attention/validation.

Following the proud tradition of Everton managers.

Not sure about following, he led it. Was never off the thing.

He's joined them for previous tournaments.

They can dress it up any way they want - getting the Echo to write puff pieces, the chief exec embarrassing himself but what they can't ignore is how many fans stayed after the game on Sunday.

I don't care how good our form is away next season. If we're as passive at home next season and kill the atmosphere by letting every team knock it round like they want - the crowd will turn very quickly imo.

Very good point.

Never known the ground to be so empty following the final whistle.

@matty1878 there's your match going fans apathy.

It does seem ill-advised to me. The last thing we want to be doing is bidding for someone on the back of playing well in the World Cup - no offence, Amokache - so it does seem like a second job, rather than the best place to do the first one.

Witch Hunt .webp

'Moyes looking forward to confronting his critics'

It will be him spewing a load of self preservation BS, and even more of "To be in with a shot of Europe is an achievement in itself"
"THE players have to do more" (Not we THEM)
"Its great we wasnt looking over our shoulder last season"

The whole article was odd.

It didn't address any of the actual issues in terms of style of play, use of squad etc, just banged on about Moyes celebrating a goal with a bit of the usual 'be careful what you wish for' rubbish. Terrible article.

I go on the Everton subreddit fairly regularly and some of the takes are genuinely embarrassing. I’d assume most of them are on the younger side. If that’s what our fanbase is evolving into, we’re heading Leicester territory in the coming decades, minus a Premier League title and a League Cup obviously.

Your biggest error was going on Reddit for anything at all.
