2025/26 David Moyes

Everton
Mikel Arteta (22) — Signed from Real Sociedad (initially on loan before being made permanent).
Marouane Fellaini (20) — Signed from Standard Liège.
Seamus Coleman (20) — Bought from Sligo Rovers.
John Stones (18) — Signed from Barnsley.
Leighton Baines (22) — Signed from Wigan Athletic.
Joleon Lescott (23) — Signed from Wolves.
Dan Gosling (17) — Signed from Plymouth Argyle.

West Ham United
Mohammed Kudus (23) — Signed from Ajax in 2023.
Jarrod Bowen (23) — Plucked from Hull City in January 2020.
Gianluca Scamacca (23) — Signed from Sassuolo in 2022.
Flynn Downes (23) — Signed from Swansea City in 2022.

Across his long managerial career, the average age of a David Moyes signing sits right at 26.1 years old.
Is that one young player every other year. A bit generous with Gosling as never played much, Stones never played for him and I’m not even sure what a Flynn Downes is

Nice arbitrary year to pick 23 given half of them are that year. If you do 22 or under it’s what 1 every 4 years

What we should have done is what Crystal Palace did with Roy Hodgson when they battled with relegation: keep him for a few months until he settled things, and then quickly replace with Glazner. Immediate success.
We kept expecting too much from an outdated manager.
We just haven't been attractive to any decent manager in recent times.
We went for Emery a few years back and he pretended to take a break from the game so he didn't have to speak to us then joined PSG.
We can't force decent ones to come. How do we know Moyes isn't the best we can get at the moment. There is still a lot of work to be done.

We’re paying your hero a massive, elite manager sized wage.

Pack in talking us down like Moyes ffs, if TFG had any ambition we could get any quality manager in world football.
Nah, he gets midtable wages. That said, he gets paid way more than Iraola, so if they offered him Moyes’ package you never know. Emery quality costs - he’s on almost double Moyes’ wages.

Do you think we can get Glasner or Iraola. If so Moyes isn’t the best we can get

Go on , tell me all the work that needs to be done to make us a vaguely less irrelevant, nondescript club because it just sounds like an excuse for failure and lack of purposeful direction to me.
Right now we are exactly where we have been for over 3 decades ..nowhere .

One other observation (not limited to just Moyes’s Everton but still applicable to his teams). But why do other teams look so much fitter than ours over a full 90 mins?

Villa players looked like they could run another 90 mins Tonight. I get the poor opposition played a factor but still…

Honestly think it’s been a major factor in these late conceding of goals which have nosedived our end of season.

Our players look so mentally and physically fatigued after about 70 minutes, even the subs look knackered! Everyone would think we were fighting in 4 competitions still, let alone the amount of international breaks there are. What do we even do in training?

He gets £5m a year.

That's 7th highest in the league, and were 13th in the league.

"Almost Double", is entirely inaccurate. But for £2.5m more, would you take a serial winner, over a serial loser?

Be nice to try and win something 🤷‍♂️

This is, and will always be unforgivable.

Serial loser.

It’s very simple when you think about it logically

It’s very rare that we have more possession than our opponents

This means we are constantly chasing the ball and getting tired both physically and mentally
