2025/26 David Moyes

He gets £5m a year.

That's 7th highest in the league, and were 13th in the league.

"Almost Double", is entirely inaccurate. But for £2.5m more, would you take a serial winner, over a serial loser?
The serial winner will want the tools to be competitive. We cannot offer that to anyone at this moment in time. It’s not as simple as just paying a coach what they want as it’s more complicated than that.

No I think they can get a better job than us.
That’s the problem with our fan base. Falling for the Moyes lines. The same was said about Dyche.

We got Ancelotti for god sake. Moshiri was a dope but at least he showed ambition. Throw money at them and they’ll come.

The only bit of excitement we’ve had is Martinez’s first season and Ancelotti’s first few months. We deserve more but we’ve got to aim for it.

We got Ancelotti as he got sacked mid season at Napoli. As soon as he could he bailed.

We're so far from the Villa moment. When he arrived, there was a good squad to take over that was being managed badly by Gerrard. Any new manager we get still has so much work to do in the transfer market.
I’m not sure I agree with that really. Emery came in when they were 17th, having finished 17th, 11th, and 14th in the 3 seasons since they came up, I’m not entirely sure where the idea that they were clearly a really good side but had just underperformed for a couple of months has come from.

Obviously now that some of them are playing at the level they are we maybe see it a bit differently but if you’re going to sit here and tell me that 4 years ago you thought Matty cash, Tyrone mings, Ezri Konsa, John McGinn, Leon Bailey, and emi Buendia was the basis of a side that would secure multiple CL qualifications and a European trophy then I’m afraid I just don’t believe you. Maybe it was the likes of the since departed regulars from that season like Ashley young, Calum chambers, leander dendoncker and Danny ings that you thought were fantastic?

Ancelotti was off once a better offer came along. That is also the chance you take when hiring above your station.

They can sit around and probably get a top job by Xmas if they want.
Some top teams sack managers around europe early on.
Who says they want to get straight back in.

They aren't signing a 3/4 year deal with us any time soon.
Why would they sit around when their stock is currently high though. Don't get me wrong they probably can do better than us but we are a very attractive option when there isn't many other positions about.

And simeone was open to coming to us for the right price but we bottled it.

Just goes to show you though where managers will go for the right price.

Look at Emery and villa.

Villa had just recently come up and were nothing but relegation fodder and he went to them. One of the best managers in the world, 1was managing a top team in spain and in the champions league. Left that to go manage a recently promoted side bouncing around the relegation zone in the premier league.

Seven players in tonight’s lineup were at the club when Emery took over.

If Real come in for 99% of managers they would leave at the drop of a hat. The same way Arteta would almost certainly leave Arsenal to go to Barca.

Plus Iraola and Glasner are not one of the best managers in the world.

You get the best players and manager you can get. If they do a good job and want to move on then so be it. It’s called ambition and what our club, players and manager seem to be lacking.

As I said earlier we wanted to speak to Emery after he left Arsenal but he said he would rather take a break and wait for something better.

I don't personally know of any jobs being available in the summer but there may be a few. It may not look like there are any yet but there isn't even a job here for them so a lot can change.

We are more attractive now than we were then.

What? We just spent £125m and we don't play those players.

On what basis are you saying we can't offer him the tools? Why cant we?
