2025/26 David Moyes

I have named 3 managers we all wanted....hindsight is easy. Nobody is to know if a manager will be crap, nobody.

Iraola could be crap....he has a 10 game streak of not winning like this season, and half this board will be baying for his blood.
Moyes has been nearly 2 months without winning 5 wins of the 18 games in 2026, his PPG is something like 0.5.

THAT is relegation form across nearly half a season... but you can defend it as being stable. If this carries on we will be back amongst it next season.

We all wanted? buddy I did not want frank lampard here 😂
We haven't been the best in selecting managers but if we're going to ascend as a club we're going to have to carefully choose another one rather than live in perpetual fear as the current safe option isnt working either

I think this is a bit of a simplistic way of looking at it for a few reasons.

Firstly, those West Ham fans want Moyes back because it's got worse since he left. It's easy to jump to the conclusion that it's worse because he left, but correlation doesn't imply causation. It's basically the same thing as texting your ex when you're lonely and saying you wish you'd never left because everything was so much better when she was around, but actually leaving her was the right thing to do, it's what you've done since that's the problem.

With the others, is that really what happened? Did we really want those managers? That's not how I remember it. Certainly the Lampard one is one of those weird myths that's taken on a life of it's own because some idiots claim they 'remember' it when they do nothing of the sort. People wanted Lampard when the choice was Lampard or Pereira, and we knew Pereira was being pushed by the parasitic Joorabchian and had just had a mental breakdown live on Sky Sports News. They did not want Lampard out of all the possible managers in the world.

We moaned and boo's every manager out, because we thought the grass was greener....and a new sexy manager was waiting around the corner to take us to glory.

That never happened then, and it wont happen now.

Iraola would not last 10 game bad streak at our club, loads would want him gone too.

Yeah, the 'mistake' angle is always the most odd - it's not as if they're replacing robots, is it?

McNeil's fallen asleep several times this season and cost us goals, Dibling has looked shaky but okay, had a few good moments, considering he's played 1 hot minute or something; Gueye has had STINKERS he's played the full 90 for, with Armstrong and Rohl on the bench, likewise JOB/Patterson (I know, I know, but it's a change at the very least), Myko/Aznou (when chasing a game having Myko is a literal negative impact in 99.9% of games), etc.

Plus who learns from a mistake - a 36 year old Gana Gueye, or 18 year old Armstrong? Yeah, really mysterious question.
'In the name of fairness' to both WHam & Spurs there's no way Moyes will name anything other than what he thinks is his best 11...I don't think there'll be too many suprises

DMs run in is relegation form - but even if we had hit Europe - I still would want him gone - his football has been dire - slowest team in the prem only 45 minutes of football in them on a good day - boring football ....

I dont remember being ecstatic about any of those three.
Martinez had literally just been relegated.
Sure there was a new boss and a bit of a buzz but I wasnt ecstatic, or anywhere close.
Ancelotti, thats it in recent times. Thats the only appointment I was really excited about.
Older David Moyes is just morphing in to sean Dyche, he even has the 'back on the grass' type expressions and an uncanny ability to avoid any blame while soaking up credit. No manager should refer to his team as 'they' when they lose.
I also think the next step is glaringly obvious, more so than ever before and the refusal to take it suggests an acceptance of mid table mediocrity.
It says to me that TFG have looked at our situation and concluded that as long as we're not in a relegation scrap, our fans will be content and their asset is safe.

Exactly, people forget that clubs weren't exactly banging down his door to appoint him before we did.
He was a good appointment for stability.

I'm not totally against all the signings made as people( but would've played them, that's all , and fixed RB).

MOYES did very well in tight times in a league, team and era of very different football 20+ YEARS AGO!

He's being over taken by the likes of de bris, who are the modern form of what Moyes did 20 yrs ago. Good, canny in the market , organized.

I feel the game is passing Moyes by now and one or two players looking discontent. That's always the marker for change. You've done well Davey, thank you.

Well yeah, going 10 games without winning is not generally seen as a good thing and is unlikely to be met with universal approval from fans. Does that pass for breaking news where you are?

12 points in last 10 games.

Not great, but its not relegation form.

Its manner of those last 4/5 last min goals that makes it look worse.

Anyway, I want him gone too now. Changed my mind.
