2025/26 David Moyes

Well, i guess we really can't afford ruthlessness.

Everyone knew the season was over after we drew against Brentford and lost to the RS. A few glimmers of hope after that that were extinguished by some really rank performances, so you can't really blame the players for feeling they were done with the season for the last 4-5 games.

At least we have the spurs relegation thing to play for, but something tells me we're not really gonna be arsed for that one.

It's not great. There's a whole lot of negatives to pick out from this season. But it's still a huge, sensible improvement upon what we've been enduring. I for one have been thinking about august since april.

It’s worrying that we celebrate a load of deadwood walking out the door, we bring in 100 mill of players, and they produce the exact same results as all the dead wood.

Like how are we just as well off after having KDH Grealish Ndiaye Barry George Dibling Alcaraz Rohl in the squad as we were when we had DCL Doucoure Harrison Lindstrom Young etc.

We’ve got an extra point though. ☹️

The majority of fans I know, on Social Media, on Podcasts, Fan Channels and forums want Moyes gone. Makes no sense if a manager like Iraola is right there for the taking and we know for a fact he is interested in talking to us.

It is this unambitious football club and TFG that are choosing to go down the route of keeping Moyes, I'm angry because every chance this club has to become something or achieve they always cock it up. Having Kinnear in charge is like having Blue Bill back, his outlook is give Moyes all the power to do what he wants. Another non football man making football decision to the detriment of the club.

We now know Moyes is staying, the bobble released a piece last night, he could have been briefed by the club and outlines a few things albeit in many many more words :-

His History Carries Huge Weight
The Ownership Believe He Can Grow With the Project

I think Moyes will be on the backfoot form the 1st whistle next season, the very 1st sign of failure or more dour, impotent, slow paced football will make the club very toxic indeed. For the 1st time I see the fans as united as ever against Moyes continuing but the idiot CEO at the is not interested in knowing what the plebs think.

I think Kinnear may be a big problem for this football club along with this manager!

Nah we can and should blame the players and the manager for this - 2 abysmal losses, true, but look at the league table right now and add 6 points to us and tell us how it looks. We absolutely should have at the very least done better against WHam and Sunderland - 6 points there and we'd be 7th with a real chance of 6th, more or less 100% in Europe in some capacity.

Instead we Moyes'd it, and then the man himself shows up and says "Well, what can you expect really" as his first words in the post-match.

We absolutely could have shipped out Keane, Gueye, McNeil as a starting point. Other teams turn over their squads all the time. We cleave to our known losers like there’s no possible world without them in the squad.

What, and play Tim, Rohl, Dibling?!? JOB at CB??!

They have no ExpeRiEnCe lad, we can't.

They might make a mistake.

Therefore let’s play our worst CB and worst winger every game, who we know will definitely make mistakes

At least it’s not Dibling making them though.

Rohl has really developed also after watching a whole season of football from the bench and having two games as a right winger.

Yeah, the 'mistake' angle is always the most odd - it's not as if they're replacing robots, is it?

McNeil's fallen asleep several times this season and cost us goals, Dibling has looked shaky but okay, had a few good moments, considering he's played 1 hot minute or something; Gueye has had STINKERS he's played the full 90 for, with Armstrong and Rohl on the bench, likewise JOB/Patterson (I know, I know, but it's a change at the very least), Myko/Aznou (when chasing a game having Myko is a literal negative impact in 99.9% of games), etc.

Plus who learns from a mistake - a 36 year old Gana Gueye, or 18 year old Armstrong? Yeah, really mysterious question.

I'm a huge fan of Moyes, however his game management, particularly in the later stages, needs serious improvement.

My support for him is NOT unconditional.
In what world will a manager who is a couple years away from retirement change anything about how he manages a game? What have you seen from him in the last ~6 years in the Premier League makes you think he's going to change anything about his approach to the game?

This is what i cant fathom, he isnt going to change anything from what the world already knows and what weve seen for years and years.
