2025/26 David Moyes

Transfer plan to buy players he either won't play because they don't fit his narrow criteria (too young , lack of premier experience) or bring an older player at a high fee they had no resale value and his decent or an aging husk of a player like Soucek I don't think that aids the club for the long term future. I just don't know why you'd want him here when he's been so abysmal this year 21 points , that form will likely carry over to next season especially if he persists in playing Tarks and Keane
Not only that there's an opportunity cost on missing out on available better managers this summer.

I see loads of West Ham fans that wish they still had him, loads.

At some point we have to look at ourselves as a fan base, and look at what we have pushed for in the past.
I think it would be different if people were just Moyes out with no idea what comes next, similar to what was happening in the past.

People specifically want Iraola/Glasner though and they're both available. Not the same as booting him for Lopetegui or one of our past managers imo.

No, but its the same as West Ham fans wanting Moyes gone TWICE - And it failing and wanting him back.

Or the same as Spurs wanting Frank, then wanting him gone.

Or us wanting Martinez/Koeman/Silva.....then wanting them all gone, as soon as it got tough.

Our fans actually wanted Lampard...who was crap.

Some of us remember this, and are more cautious about stamping our feet throwing names round.

Perhaps we might just try not hiring crap managers? Like genuinely proven crap managers. Almost every manager we have hired has relegated teams, including our current one.

For no other reason than we have to learn from West Ham, I'm for keeping him.
The only real lessons to learn are don't let Moyes put his stamp on the team cos you'll end up with the oldest squad in the league and 8th highest wage bil. Also, don't follow it up by replacing him with two managers who had recently failed previously in the PL.

They gave lopetegui 150m to rebuild the squad, we shouldn't be rebuilding nothing post Moyes

None of those managers listed above have achieved anything on par with Iraola getting Bournemouth into the Champions League or Glasners trophy wins at multiple clubs. West ham consistently made poor appointments, Spurs going to Frank with a team built by Ange was insanity. In terms of our picks, Martinez had won a trophy but been relegated, Koeman was just living off his name and Silva while being the best of the bunch hadn't really achieved anything significant.

Just because us or other fanbases were misguided in the past it doesn't mean that you should just settle for mediocrity out of fear of change when there are genuinely good options available. It's like stubbing your toe and then deciding to spend the rest of your life in a wheelchair so it can't happen again.

Eventually you have to believe in the potential of another coach or its going to be another decade of Moyes.

I have named 3 managers we all wanted....hindsight is easy. Nobody is to know if a manager will be crap, nobody.

Iraola could be crap....he has a 10 game streak of not winning like this season, and half this board will be baying for his blood.

I think this is a bit of a simplistic way of looking at it for a few reasons.

Firstly, those West Ham fans want Moyes back because it's got worse since he left. It's easy to jump to the conclusion that it's worse because he left, but correlation doesn't imply causation. It's basically the same thing as texting your ex when you're lonely and saying you wish you'd never left because everything was so much better when she was around, but actually leaving her was the right thing to do, it's what you've done since that's the problem.

With the others, is that really what happened? Did we really want those managers? That's not how I remember it. Certainly the Lampard one is one of those weird myths that's taken on a life of it's own because some idiots claim they 'remember' it when they do nothing of the sort. People wanted Lampard when the choice was Lampard or Pereira, and we knew Pereira was being pushed by the parasitic Joorabchian and had just had a mental breakdown live on Sky Sports News. They did not want Lampard out of all the possible managers in the world.

This is my point....what on earth do you think has changed ??!!

Its the same stuff now being rolled out by fans....barely 15 months on from us being an utter car-crash of club off and all over the pitch.

Maybe...just maybe we don't throw another manager out, cos we want more sexy passes and unknown foreign names.....

Rumours were we approached him before DM - but Iraola stated he wanted to stay down south - a bit of Bullcrap I feel - we should make a move for him ....
