2025/26 David Moyes

Tete was 29 last summer when we tried to get him in on a FREE.

McGinn was 30 last summer when Emery blocked Moyes attempt.
Are you OK? Have you considered posting stuff that actually makes sense? I have absolutely no idea what point you're trying to make with these bizarre one line, context-free replies you're banging out repeatedly.

It's the fact we went more cautious as the season went on that makes no sense. Once we got ourselves well into mid table safety, the manager went even more safety first in his approach

If he isn't willing to give it a good go when we are rock solid and safe by new year, then what's the point. We've thrown away half a season playing dull percentage football, and for what?
yes, this. the cautiousness is part responsible for the sucker punch jitters.

what's maddening is everyone can feel it.

Don't want to start any rage posting from you, but only the other week Keane said he didn't expect to be playing that much this season.
Makes you think about his Ambition and comfortability that he signed a 1yr deal. And now he's just done it again.
What ambition could he show realistically? He was hardly turning down moves to PSG and Bayern to stay here was he? His options were probably along the lines of stay and be a squad player here, do the same sort of job for someone like Wolves or Burnley or drop down a level and play more (less money, worse facilities and lower standard in training etc). I don't really see how making the decision he made could be seen as lacking ambition in any way. I've slated Keane loads of times but he doesn't pick himself, it's not his fault managers keep putting him out there and I can't see how there's any blame attached to him for accepting a contract the club offer him.

He’s a manager that gets you between 45-65 points, most of the time and doesn’t win big games If we want to go to the champions league and deep in cups we need a manager that can get 70 plus points and wins one off big games. Then hope would return. Until then it’s just what shade of mid table do we want.
beat man utd, beat villa, beat chelsea. should have beat city.

Man Utd and Chelsea at their lowest, Villa are now a big team apparently?
"Should have" doesn't mean anything unless we actually win a game.

Seeing as he's managed for 25 years or so, can you look up and tell us how well he does in big games historically mate? Like against the regular/historic top 4, or the RS for example?

I hear you. and I think I understand.

I can't figure out the home form problem, I can't work out the slow starts at KO and HT (qualudes). And I can't see why the sucker punch gets us every time.

Home form is diabolical. It can't just be a settling into new digs issue.

I made a post a day ago about us at 1-1 on Sunday, we came back into the game, pegged sunderland back, worked a series of half chances and corners. Then we fashioned the chance for O'B then we froze, then the sucker punch, then we died. Again.

we huffed and puffed and very nearly blew their house down. we killed our own confidence. numerous forum accounts mentioned in the match thread that the inevitable conceding was on its way and they were all right.

We are not ruthless, we try hard but because there is no natural goal scorer the anxiety around scoring a goal shatters our fragile confidence and we flake out and crumble. It's not that its heart, it's about fight and determination. I want a couple of players that want to score and then do it again and put the oppo to the sword. humiliate them. We're to nice, we're to soft, and there is no killer instinct. I don't want a team of nice guys, I want a team of barstuds!*

It's a shame the match is so unfulfilling, the seating dynamic has caused a problem with the match day experience, that they've banged £180 on top of already increased ST's is very naughty. 12 months ago in Goodison a ST was what, £580? renewals less than 12 months on have shattered a grand.
I want my HT rubbish lager served by victoria secrets models to make this all palatable.

I'll meet you in the middle. Moyes bins beto and barry and gets a proper striker, AND gets two starting fullbacks in over this summer or he walks the plank? If the problem positions are obvious to us, then for his £7m big ones a year he ought to be acutely aware of what's required.

Do or die time. No excuses. Ruthlessness from top to bottom.
Getting in two fullbacks and a new striker is the absolute minimum, baseline non negotiable this summer. Would show a basic level of competence more than any real ruthlessness.

If we actually want to be ruthless, well you know what I'm going to say....

villa are in a euro final and have wrapped up CL qualifying. does that count for nothing?
