2025/26 David Moyes

That away form drops off next season which is a likely scenario and we are right in the thick of it.

The likely only saving grace is the 3 teams coming up probably wont get near 30 points.

I don't see us getting much more than 42/43 points if he stays.

What’s the progress weve we’ve made just out of interest?
When we had our first eleven available we were pushing for Europe. If we strengthen in the summer I think we get Europe next season.

At the end of the day, it’s the first European chase we’ve had in a long time, but we aren’t good enough at the moment.

Now, if Moyes thinks staying at the current level is acceptable then I would say he does deserve the sack. If he wants to make the team better next season then he deserves another season.

The thing is though, the stats will bear out throughout the season it’s not been the progress that people were talking about. He doesn’t have much of a personality Moyes but he seems to have people believing in him which is bewildering. The only thing to do is 1) use your eyes and 2) look at the stats
I genuinely think all it comes down to is that some older fans like that he's a traditional 'football man'

It’s never been good enough. The league is a marathon and we weren’t able to cope with losing key players at key moments in the season. But we’ve still made progress on last season which gives us something to build on.

You can be as negative as you like, but it’s still the early stages of a rebuilding process.
I'm curious about the specific points of progress you think we've made compared to last season?

I could play devil's advocate, and say, we've spent a lot of money to fail to improve key positions we've been short in for years, in fact we've got worse at centre forward, worse at right back, and worse at centre half, our brightest centre half looks no longer to have fitness levels to keep with the demands of games, and have virtually the same points total as the past two seasons.

I'm all ears to positive points you might make, but in my opinion, the above is not progress, that's going backwards - especially given the age of many players in the squad and how much all other teams seem to be able to improve.

One point better than a Dyche full season (adjusting for the points we got taken off us).

Worse points per game from last season after he took over.

failure to get one of NINE European places (might never happen again),

£100m+ spent on players, with about half of that barely seeing the pitch.

This isn’t progression.
