2025/26 David Moyes

Thankfully I'm nowhere near Matty's arsehole, but I do enjoy going full JK Simmons spiderman laugh gif at some hysterical reactionary twerp who -'not even joking'- thinks we might get relegated next year because we're currently 23st 12th on 49 points. I'm actually embarrassed for you if this is your true take.
Twerp hahahaha what a word.

I was joking tbf with who’s coming up I reckon we’re fine, more of a reason to move on in the summer amirite?

Our home form has to improve massively next season though, we can’t be relying on our away form, Six home wins from 19 simply isn’t good enough.

The question for me is, Are the players, or the core of them, still with him?
The question for me is we have a great stadium, big club fanbase and...can I see a Moyes team getting to the top and taking games by the throat? It will never happen. He is inflexible and can't learn from his own errors. An upgrade on Dyche for sure but his stubborn views mean this season is zero progress. Can Dibling be worse than O'Neill, we know Patterson is a better right back than O'Brien. We know NDiaye has needed a rest, we know Tarks and Keane does not work. Does Moyes? Stability is not 3 points in 18. He needs to go because his decisions on transfers will be with us for 2/3 years and he is dull and weak. He lacks flair and therefore so will his teams.

Yeah I hear ya.

I'd wager a year from now we're probably in about the same position: bang in the middle of the table, because that's just how it works at Everton Feckall Club - I mean, Football Club.

Home form does have to improve, but that's been said a lot longer than we've been at the Dill Hickson Arena or whatever it's called. Can't keep blaming the blue donuts forever.

(Plus twerp is my word of the week. Be glad it's not last week or you'd have gotten c|_|nt and the last time I used that in casual conversation I was asked to leave the baptism 🙄)

If they are thinking Moyes is good for only one more season, then we really are in trouble.

He's either your long term manager or he's not. If you only think he's worth one more year then why would you keep him in the first place.

Stability is a nonsense narrative. Be careful what you wish for is a meaningless statement. If we want to get better we need to start acting like it and make the big decisions that are needed.

No doubt he is the best manager I've seen on my lifetime for us, but we need to move on.
I'm sorry you've had to endure so much dross as a Blue (and I applaud you for sticking it out, as many of us have done for many years). But yeah, time to move on and aim for a brighter future under a better manager... those of us above a certain age have seen *far* better & more successful Everton mangers in the past; no reason why we can't aspire to the same in the future.

20 points from 18 games second half of the season. Will end up being 20 points from 19 games. It’s basically a point per game, the same ratio Dyche was tracking to last season when he went.

We had 29 at the halfway stage, if we’d have just repeated that we’d be in 6th now with a shot of CL football. Anything above relegation form gets us Europe. And we went and produced half a season of relegation form.

This annoyed me today, not least because we had midfield options on the bench and Garner could have gone RB when OB was suffering and went off with the physio at HT.

Stubbornness or not wanting to move JG who got my MotM because he was so effective at saving our bacon repeatedly.
Theres something infuriating about moyes refusal to play younger players because they are error prone and defensively inconsistent while continuing to play a defence that has shipped at least 2 goals a game since April through a series of defensive errors.

I have a rebuttal here. Rohl has played the last few games. Dibling is cited as the one they all want to see. In the same position.

I think Myko gets the nod over Aznou on base strength (Myko is all legs and core - like a gymnast) very handy defending set pieces.

Barry didn't work out, for beto or him. KDH did. Grealish got long term injured. We missed Tete and McGinn.

We were a side fighting relegation into the last fortnight of the season how many seasons on the bounce? What big league big rep players are signing up for a dose of that?

Patience, progress, faith, transition?

I want it all, and I want it now!

If we start next season the way we've ended this one we'll go down.

Never mind progress, that's not even stability.

Slow subs, no subs, square pegs, no appetite for change.

Time for Moyes to fall on his sword.

I haven't watched the Interview yet, I can't bring myself to do it.
But if it's anything like I imagine, he's probably signing off.

As painful as some of the footy can be to watch, his awful in game management and blatantly dividing the squad to keep the loud voices on side. It's actually his words that have done me the most.

See you again next season it is than.

So true.

I've given him every chance but the team selections and inept reactive not proactive substitutions against countless teams but particularly Bournemouth and Sunderland at home have done me. I just can't stay on board.

He kneecapped the team and lost 2 games simply through his team selections and refusal to change it up when it was obvious we would concede at 1-0 if he kept the status quo.

It was like Southgate all over again in the European final against Italy. Every man and his dog could see it was a matter of time before Italy would score unless changes were made. That was Moyes against Bournemouth and Sunderland and other games.

To compound matters he plays the 4th choice centre back ahead of the 3rd choice centre back and the latter being 6 ft 5 inches plays at right back.

How about playing players in their actual position? I don't know maybe I'm just old fashioned.

I really like Moyes but enough is enough for goodness sake.

We haven't been seriously threatened by relegation since over 3 years ago so please cease with that narrative, even the points deduction season we comfortably finished above the relegated teams
