2025/26 David Moyes

I did think about Alonsos' ties elsewhere and I'm not sure he likes them as much as they worship him.

The way they tried to force him out the door to fund the Barry deal wasn't exactly pleasant.

That is one of the factors but also his stock may be too high currently.

He failed at Madrid because some of the players are a nightmare to manage, as they're seeing again now.

All great options. I'd like Alonso for the work he did in Germany but he won't for obvious reasons.

Glansner has put me off with wanting to
leave Palace.

Glasner had ambition to take them further after winning the cup and Palace made it clear exactly what they thought of that by selling Eze and Guehi and not really bringing in replacement of the required standard.

Glasner has ambition. Isn’t that something we want? I don’t want a manager who is happy with mid table and won’t rock the boat. We need a winner.

Yeah, I didn't like Glasner's reaction at the time - but the last thing we need is a manager who's easily pleased. If our owners funded the manager, set high standards, and let him get on with it, he'd not be bleating to dump us for a fancier model.

Of course, if Everton take the Bill Kenwright approach, then any ambitious manager of ability will eventually leave us - sooner rather than later. Even Moyes dumped us in the end - even if it did take him a decade to find genuine ambition.

As of right now we have a promoted side level on points with us. Another promoted side 4 points behind us in decent form.

A team who've been in relegation troubles all season potentially 5 points behind us but with the advantage in the European Semi final.

We play a manager today that Moyes has never beat in the league.

Stability though, that's all we can ask for.

Spurs are gonna bang five wins on the bounce, just like De Zerbi been yappin' about.
Next season, they’ll be right back in the mix for Europe—doing a proper job like Villa and Forest did.
As for Everton? We’re stuck in the mud, lad. Goin' nowhere fast 'cause the fans aren't ready for it. Same old story, innit?
[/QUO We will win nothing with Moyes and every Evertonian in their heart of hearts knows this.

Careful what you wish for

If we finish 14th have we ultimately progressed?!

Gruel yesterday, gruel today, expensive gruel tomorrow.

Seeing Forest succeed is really aggravating. They had one season where they ‘overachieved’. One season where they rolled the dice and were brave in every game, one season where they had a decent striker. That one season could have them in the champions league next season with a Europa title under their belt. But this manager and some fans will keep us shackled to the ‘we’re not ready’ narrative, despite the table suggesting that our squad is better.

We had a wonderful opportunity to be in the box seat for Europe, but the manager’s cowardice sadly will see us finish 13/14th. No proactive subs, starting Thierno Barry, unimaginative line ups, refusing to play direct young players, keeping Gueye in midfield and not getting Rohl’s legs on to cover.

We’ll see more clubs leap frog us next summer and put distance between us next season.
