2025/26 David Moyes

Which bit, the peanuts bit or spend it on one player bit?

Don’t think any club has ever spent £200m on an individual transfer, and there has only been 10 instances where a club has spend £200+ in one window in the Prem.
If (which I doubt) we have £200m to spend in the summer, it will largely be ‘investment’ ie net spend rather than selling £100m of players and adding another £100m.

So in answer to your question. No, it’s not true and is heavily sarcastic.
But happy for you to change my mind.
£200mil peanuts really points to the state of the economy

Flirting with relegation feels like it has gone on for years but if you actually look at the seasons it was a 3 year period, 21/22 & 22/23 because we appointed Lampard, (nice guy but wasn’t up to the job), & 23/24 because of the points deduction.

Given everything that was going on at the club the league position was remarkably stable except for the Lampard period.

20/21 Ancelotti. 10th
21/22 Lampard 16th
22/23 Lampard/Dyche 17th
23/24 Dyche 12th (before points deduction)
24/25 Dyche/Moyes 13th
You seem to have forgotten a certain stain on our history in that Manager round up..

Can you re-validate that please, not sure it’s correct.
Pretty certain every year since Moyes left we have been in a relegation battle.
If you use the search function on here you should be able to get all the facts about it.

Would be lovely to have a go at the cups next year wouldn't it
Got to get 40 points on the board before we start thinking about all that cup run shenanigans.

You are quite correct. Think it was erased from my mind. Updated with Benetiz added for 21/22. Two consecutive bad appointment in Benetiz & Lampard the primary cause of the relegation worries.

Years ago DM signed Simon Davies I was surpprised becuase Simon was crap and slow but now I am sure that is the profile DM likes. The horror of Soucek,, mc Ginn, that slow full back at Arsenal and that rugby league no 9 at CFC are real threats. Ndjiaje got signed because DM was on holiday.

No. It wasn’t remarkably stable. Last season at the half way point we were 17th and 1 point clear of relegation.

Let’s not pretend we didn’t have relegation worries. And you can’t just remove the points deduction so that it looks stable. We were all talking and worrying about relegation.

Also, prior to Carlo, we had concerns about relegation, it’s why koeman and silva were sacked. Just because ultimately, we were allright, doesn’t take away the fact that at points significantly through those seasons, we were seriously concerned with relegation.

Koeman sacked in 18th with 2 wins from 9. Silva sacked in 18th with 14 points from 15 games. Again, nearly half way through the season.

Spurs are gonna bang five wins on the bounce, just like De Zerbi been yappin' about.
Next season, they’ll be right back in the mix for Europe—doing a proper job like Villa and Forest did.
As for Everton? We’re stuck in the mud, lad. Goin' nowhere fast 'cause the fans aren't ready for it. Same old story, innit?
