2025/26 David Moyes

Before the season literally 99% of evertonians said stability was what's required this season.

Stability has been delivered in spades and instead of being happy, a majority of the fans have moved the goalposts so its Europe or failure.

To be fair, I would accept mid table as long as we progressed and blooded a few kids into the starting eleven.

But, we haven't.

targets are allowed to shift during the season though especially considering 3 games ago we were in with a massive chance of europe

Moyes was giving out interviews and players were being stage managed all to say they were going for Europe.

He's the choked after taking all the plaudits from those saying he should be manager of the year.

Were currently 12th after zero player development all season.

He's now saying he should be judged on 1 in 4 transfers being successful.

Iraola in.

Three games ago we were within striking distance of the champions league and now we're as close to Leeds in 14th as we are to Brentford in 7th. The derby knocked the stuffing out of us. You are quite correct that targets and expectations change, tomorrow's match and how we approach it will tell us a lot about how Moyes views our remaining four games.

You didnt say it, hence no quotes. I made a point earlier that Moyes supporters were asking for a new contract a few weeks ago, now it is " who else is better than him that we could get" and next step will be " hes done what he was brought into to do...people should be grateful and are delusional if they expect ( want more)"...my words, but implied.
Going back to your point, for me the discontent with Moyes isnt just the league position: it is the fact that we are finishing the season with Burnley's cbs from God knows when, both signed up for next year, a 6-6 rb, yet we concede from corners, Dwight McNeil and Gana mainstays of our midfield and no idea if any of the players on the bench can actually play. Add to that, a manager who has had no plan B this year when we needed to change things up, made little effort in either cup competition and likes to praise the oppositioni n his press conferences instead of God forbid, ever shouldering any responsibility. Finally, the cherry on the cake...he refers to about 60 million worth footballing talent as " good boys" and thinks its fine that a young footballer spends a year of his career watching Dwight McNeil from the sidelines. How frikking condescending and totally tone deaf is that?? Thanks for the service, now let someone else have a go😊

Flirting with relegation feels like it has gone on for years but if you actually look at the seasons it was a 3 year period, 21/22 & 22/23 because we appointed Lampard, (nice guy but wasn’t up to the job), & 23/24 because of the points deduction.

Given everything that was going on at the club the league position was remarkably stable except for the Lampard period.

20/21 Ancelotti. 10th
21/22 Lampard 16th
22/23 Lampard/Dyche 17th
23/24 Dyche 12th (before points deduction)
24/25 Dyche/Moyes 13th

I prayed before my evening meal this evening in honour of Moyes.

He is our greatest manager ever and no-one can do a better job.

Even though he has never won us a trophy I break bread in his honour.

I remember as a young child watch us destroy Rapid Vienna with brilliant football.

But, watching us beat Manchester United with Almiron as manager and hanging on for dear life with 25% possession is the greatest game of my life.

Moyes 4 Lyfe

Surely we have to at least be seeing if we have any chance. Too good an opportunity to completely pass on.

When a top manager becomes available you'd hope we'd ask the question.

Thats how Bournemouth got him and how Southampton landed Pochettino.

Moyes and his disciples will champion gradual improvement (falsely spun how they wish) to keep Moyes in a job.

Currently in 12th and without player development weve certainly not improved at all.
