Behave lad
We are done scoring points this season and on target for the 13th place finish I predicted at the start of the season.

That, and £110M+ spent on lads who Moyes won’t even let off the bench. Well worth sacking Dyche for that.

And STILL there are those giving it the happy flappy sea lion routine about how he he has stabilised the club and got us going in the right direction.
Embarrassing.

Worth bearing in mind among all the moaning:
  • 2024–25: 48 points (due to Moyes massively increasing the PPG)
  • 2023–24: 40 points
  • 2022–23: 36 points
  • 2021–22: 39 points

Worth bearing in mind that in 7 of the 12 seasons Moyes was away from us we finished higher in the table than what Moyes has got us to now in his first full season back with us.

Our "reboot" season has been an utter failure.

Probably the most correct thing you’ve ever said to be fair @Death

That 'terrible' period between Koeman taking over and Silva being sacked (seasons 2016/17 to 2018/19) was a golden era compared to where we are right now: 7th; 8th; 8th.

Worth bearing in mind (continued)...

...that Guardian Moyes fluffer Andy Hunter was demanding Martinez's head one season after we finished 11th, calling it: "a dire season", peppered with performances that were "anaemic" and "feeble"....this was a season where we reached two cup SFs btw...as opposed to the current one where we stank the 'kin gaff out in them and surrendered like the Moyes surrender monkey teams always do.

But Moyes' 11th place this season though, according to Hunter, has "raised expectations".

Lol.

Never underestimate the number of arse lickers Moyes has built up in this industry over the decades he's been involved in it.

They'd be arguing for him to be handed a new contract if we were dancing on the trap door.

Failure is failure though, and you can kid some of the fans but not all of them.

Trouble with context?

I wouldn't have thought a grown up would need this explaining, but...

11th after 8 consectuive years of top 10 finishes = worse
11th after three years of relegation battles finishing 16th, 17th, 15th (then 13th after Moyes came in half way through the season) = better

Here's yours and the other feller's 'context': Moyes had - we were told - already stabilised the club prior to this season (something you alluded to above).

Then, this season, he was handed the massive boost of spending well over a hundred £illion plus massive wages for a 'superstar'; the rocket fuel of a new stadium and no more worries about ownership issues...and has still stumbled to a worse season than the last one under Martinez where we finished where we are now and saw infinitely better cup campaigns.

'Context'?

...you cant handle context.

For the record, I hope we part with Moyes in the summer (having a suitable long term plan and targets identified), but it's inane to judge expectations for a single season where the club has been constantly bottom half and worrying about relegation as being the same as where the club had been consistently top half.

"I agree with you...but, but, but....I just want to show how I can kontekstewalize stuff an' dat."

Ha ha ha. Pure gold.

So half a season is enough ‘stabilising’ and we should be getting Europe as a minimum after that?

The context is the majority of this squad (that can’t be overhauled for £100m) is worse than Martinez had. 6 months of stability doesn’t change that, and I’m bemused at the comparison to be quite honest. We could all play that game by saying Martinez is an abject failure and stain on the club because he did worse than Kendall.
