2025/26 David Moyes

We've got to spend £40m+ odd this summer on Rohl's obligation and Grealish just to stand still.

If we plop £100m on top of that for another club record spend, what are we expecting?

7th to 12th - and the small margins between them.

My hope is always on cups, and winning a 'big game' or two. It's probably why my enthusiasm on Moyes isn't the best.

[Edit] Or maybe put some hope in that we're building towards the next few years, signing upcoming talent who we'll develop. /sigh.
My enthusiasm for Moyes vanished the moment he gave Keane a new contract .Even though it makes sense in a way as it frees up money for a potential new signing but it's classic Moyes to re-sign such a limited player. McNeil will be next .o_O

You're so keen to argue that you don't even read.
"I can recognise small signs of progress without being blinded by large amounts of stagnation."

Are we in a better position than a year ago, or two years? In my opinion, yes. (i.e. the 'progress' part)
Do I believe Moyes is the man to hep us progress faster and further? No (i.e. the 'stagnation' part)
Does that mean I have to be very, very angry? Also no.

But you're the one ALSO arguing that stabilisation cant come after 'half a season'...which strongly suggests you believe we shouldn't have been looking to move on this season to anything better than stabilisation.

Have you really thought this position of yours out?

You being 'the grown up' an' all...?

Give Southgate whatever length of contract he wants lads.

Off his rocker, what did Southgate do with England, Pick favourites..
What did he do in Club management ?

How much more is Southgate pro-active than Moyes

I think I’m coming round to the idea that maybe Moyes should move upstairs this summer. Give a manager who wants to use more than 14 players from the squad a chance.
I thought about that too at one point - being moved upstairs but now I'm not a fan or keen on that at all. If he moves upstairs then he will have a say in who the next manager is. Realistically who do we think will be on his shortlist? It will be managers that most here wouldn't be into. I can see Howe leaving Newcastle this summer and I guarantee that he would be one of the top names on a Moyes list which would be a hard no from me.

The arrogant turd thought he could pick his successor when he was halfway out the door to United.

Stability and progression aren't mutually exclusive

I believe Moyes is part of the problem why we have gone over 3 decades without winning sod all, he has been our manager for half of it.

We have no longer Kenwright his mate with his small time mentality, we now certainly dont need Kenwrights little disciple 'upstairs' instilling the same mentality we are trying to get rid of.

Just put him on ignore Eggs, he's obviously a Moyes hater.
Why would you not have dislike for the guy, jumped to the richest club in the world for free, when under contract we could have got money for him. Tried to buy our players on the cheap, called the fans a disgrace. We’ve now had 13yrs of mostly boring, negative cautious football, who the hell would want more of this

Yes he should be moved along in the summer and never have an association with us again

The man has done his stabilising job. We now need a purge, a complete break from the Kenwright era.

This club needs an enema.
