2025/26 David Moyes

I hope not. It is after said 2 game winning streak that the newspapers are running with this story and people on this site are waxing lyrically over anything Moyes has done, going back to Cahill's debut and West Ham's European adventure, so yes there has been a correlation between this activity and a win against Burnley and Chelsea. As I said, if he gets us into Europe he absolutely deserves a new contract, regardless of what I think of his style of football or how he is handling THIS crop of young players that he played " a role " in signing.

ye things don’t get discussed behind scenes only if we win two games.

he deserves and will get next season

regardless if we get europe

Right, I am sure he will. That was not really the topic of the debate. Will he wont he get a contract extension...I thought it was more about those of you who think he should and those of us that arent so sure. Either way, despite all this, we are all long suffering Everton fans in the end so at least we have that in common.

From 2021/22 to 2023/24, you didn't want Everton to compete for the League Cup, because no major club would care about it, implying you considered Everton to be a major club. Now, despite being better than we were then, you want the manager to want us to compete for the League Cup, apparently because we are now a minor club. You yourself want us to compete for it now, but presumably you still consider us a major club, nixing your previous claim that major clubs shouldn't care about it. You criticise Moyes for not valuing it, but it's not clear whether that's because he doesn't consider us major enough, or he thinks we're too major for it.

It's a mess to be honest, but you'll still attempt to argue it.
No, if I ever said we shouldn't compete in it it was because we were trying to avoid relegation. That isn't the case now.

This makes absolutely no sense, if we’re not a major club then surely you would value it? And if you do see us as a major club and therefore don’t value it, then you would’ve been happy we went out of it this season?
And this was posted just seconds after he tried to patronise the younger blues on here by saying what a major club we are and all the trophies he's seen us win etc.

It's like an even crapper version of Trump, contradictions and non sequiturs everywhere. Give it another ten mins and he'll sign off with *sigh* as we're all too stupid to follow where his his mad head goes.

…..more praise;

As if a player is going to say something detrimental about Moyes whilst he’s the manager & picking the team. Aznou was probably borderline.

I’m sure saying something nice gets a bit of goodwill from him. 😃
I had a boss who was an absolute wazzock, but also had a massive ego. I would never have done anything other than praise him talking to most people in the company because I knew he had a fragile ego and couldn't handle criticism. I suspect most people are the same, especially in football where a lot of managers think they're the dog's bollocks.
