I had a boss who was an absolute wazzock, but also had a massive ego. I would never have done anything other than praise him talking to most people in the company because I knew he had a fragile ego and couldn't handle criticism. I suspect most people are the same, especially in football where a lot of managers think they're the dog's bollocks.

I think this is rubbish. It’s obviously dumb to slag off people who have a certain amount of control over your career but that doesn’t mean you have to praise them.

A certain amount of control? A football manager literally makes or breaks the career of the players at the club. There aren't many jobs where a manager can make or break a career path like football.

The players also make or break the manager so it’s two way street, or one way depending on how desperate you are to criticise Moyes. Most people aren’t gushing about people they hate.
