2025/26 David Moyes

I said before mate it's not so much about yesterday as I thought we played well, but, Arsenal were there for the taking and we never even tried in the 2nd half. Why? IMO we lost that yesterday because of our approach and mentality. (Again same old story)
This is the reason why he has an appealing record at grounds like this, no balls to attack them, no idea how to unlock teams, apart from Burnley he has no idea how to keep the ball or sustain pressure on the opposition.

He is a very limited manager and that's why we should move him on in the summer because the best we can hope for is where we are now and expect defeats and poor performances against all the teams I mentioned before.
Biggest difference yesterday was one Manager jumped in to change things up, the other didn't..

Why didn't that show in the first half?
Because we had a go at them
It frustrates me as much as anyone, a break in play does massively effect momentum.

Maybe it was his teamtalk, but I can't see players buy into that all the time.
Someone telling you to change and hold on for a point. I would be fuming at someone telling me that..

And they were extremely fortunate to not be behind.

Look at both actions not just one to criticise us.
Pickford flapped, that's why they scored..
It's hard to see it as fortune for them when reality is that we are one of the lowest scoring teams in the league.

We're not being unlucky to not score more throughout the entire season, there's a clear pattern going on.

It's a pretty boring point.
Looking at the quick highlights they put on Sky - we had the best chances & unluckily hit the post - they put one decent cross in & the usually reliable Pickford let us down going for that cross his one part of his game he is always vulnerable for - even then he just got his finger tips to it & blow me it hit an Arsenal player in his vitals & directed the ball to a guy 2 yards out - Title winning teams have that luck , but IMO Pickford should have either got the ball or stayed on his line he ran a long way out which is not like him - he has saved us so many times this season he is hard to fault , but that decision cost us a point -

Not impressed with Arsenal - with a bit of luck we could have been 2-0 up at half time .....we looked for the best parts of the game of scoring ....

I don’t think Moyes always makes the best substitutions and at the right time. But the difference to me wasn’t as much tactics and subs as much as it was options. Arteta can be so much more creative since he has a plethora of choices. Moyes has one, maybe two, options at best. We were beaten less by tactics and skill as we were by exorbitant payrolls.

And I would not have said they had a plethora of choices if I did not know what a plethora meant.

But he did have options on the bench to be a bit more positive and he wasn’t, which is Moyes 90%’ of the time

Agreed, mate. I feel bad for our young players. If I were Rohl, Armstrong, Dibling, and George I would most certainly feel like I had the ol’ bait and switch pulled on me. Even if they aren’t starters based on what Moyes sees in practice, they should still be seeing the pitch every match.

We believed in them for a reason at some point to get them here. They probably are thinking why did I say yes to coming here if I’m riding the bench all the time. We need to do better at growing young talent and showcasing to the wider footballing world that if you come here, you’ll grow and you will play.
