2025/26 David Moyes

Points on the board tell its own story. We have undeniably improved this season. TFG aren't Moshiri, they won't just sack a Moyes when he was brought in to do a job (stabilise us) and is very clearly doing it.
You don’t know what they will do, you also don’t know what their long term goal is, are they happy about gbe 80mil worth of players not getting a sniff.
2 things we do know is Moyes wasn’t their man and home from is very important to American owners and in
American sports

I think he could be removed if the man they want is available, if we finish top 11
Say I think he may stay, down to 13/14th I think he will be in big trouble

The caveat is
Moyes controlling transfers with a year left and talk of 200mil maybe being available, down we wamt another season of Moyes playing the older players he wanted every week and the younger players the club wanted. Sat on the bench

I thought the analysis on MOTD was spot on and gave an insight into his team selections. He wants players who can take on instructions and are well drilled on where they need to be positionally. I suspect that once the likes of Dibling and George have better grades in their homework ‘where to be when we lose the ball’ we will see them replace the likes of McNeil and then will see them offer us something more going forwards.

I shall be at the game Tuesday fully expecting to be left frustrated but content that I’m no where near as stressed as this time last year. That my fellow blues is something to be very happy about.

Moyes will be here next season. If they wanted a more progressive manager then they wouldn't have employed Moyes to begin with. They knew what they where getting. Solid, stability. They gave him 2.5 years to build a solid foundation and he's doing it.

The MOTD analysis was spot on in the sense of hammering the point home twice that Moyes doesn't fancy possession of the ball....which is ok.

People should know their limitations and avoid doing stuff they have no aptitude for - in this instance setting up as an attacking unit....which is why we come unstuck at home.

Then we finish 14th. He's still not getting sacked. It would be moronic to sack the man who has delivered our best season in half a decade and so clearly improved us. Like him or not, he was brought in for stability and he's undeniably achieving it. With just one year left on his contract it would make zero business sense to get rid in the summer.

Too many extremes in this thread

There's plenty of reasons why it might make business sense to change him, but I won't bother speculating as right now we don't really know what our owners are thinking

That you don't believe it's a good idea to change, yeah fine, but it would be a perfectly normal everyday occurrence in the world of football if they decided to go with another manager

Im not buying that he has his favourites and that won’t change, of course McNeil got an assist,
But wasn’t great overall and he’s basically stunk the gaff out, but Moyes will go
For him purely based on age.
Was his instructions v Leeds not to
Track james who scored and then
[Poor language removed] out of a 50/50

Gana has been poor this season, the stats tell you he’s dropped off 50% from last season, yet play every minute of every game. Rhol brilliant at Villa not a kick since. Patterson RB and O’Brien CB keep 4 clean sheets in 5 or something like
That, yet bombed as soon as his favourites/experanced players are back.

Its not an extreme position to say that it makes zero business sense to sack the manager that has delivered our best season in half a decade, who has undeniably improved us and who only just one year left on his contract. I don't particularly care if he stays or goes once his contract is up, I just think that it would be a mad business decision to do it this summer.

Yep. It's the type of thing that actual professional coaches worry about. The importance of scoring the first goal means that the ability to keep it tight, track runners and not make positional mistakes is more important than an attacking threat. McNeil generally does this (Leeds aside).

It's not about favourites. That makes it sound like he's a school girl. He has players he prefers over others. As every single coach in world football does. You disagree with who picks. Nothing more to it.

Ha ha
You obviously understand zip
TFG wanted to give him 1.5 yr deal,
But in January they were caught out with dyche basically saying he couldn’t take us any further. They could have got rid of him in November/december and gone and got Moyes if he was their man, but he wasn’t so
That’s why it didn’t happen. In their ideal world get through till tbe summer and get the man they wanted, which sorry to disappoint you, wasn’t Moyes

it’s not so easy to get their man in
January and obviously he wasn’t available,
Moyes pushed for 2.5 yrs because he was in a strong position.

You keep saying he will be here next season, nobody knows apart from TFG and the board and I’d guess it’s still very much up
In the air

It's not purely based on age. It's an absurd suggestion.

You're going on and on and on mate but my opinion (and that's all it is, so I don't know why it bothers you this much) is that the owners won't sack him and it would be moronic to do so. You can either accept my opinion for what its worth or continue to go round and round in circles.
