2025/26 David Moyes

I'd be made up with 9th, if we were playing players in their proper positions and blooding youngsters that could be the heartbeat of the team for years to come.

As it is, we've got DM making hideous selections match after match, sometimes making changes in time to salvage a result and sometimes not, alienating young players and stubbornly persisting with the likes of Tarkowski and Gueye even though they look physically past it and awful more or less every game.

Moyes is more concerned with keeping what reputation he has in tact, than in building solid foundations for The Project that we keep hearing so much about.

He's always been Moyes first.

He once got fed up of Kenwright one summer was saying all things in press conferences... got handed a bumper new deal and his tone changed dramatically.

Yes but a good manager can improve things quickly on the pitch IE Emery at Villa, yes he probably inherited a better squad but got a lot more out of them. We gone up a small level from dyche and ultimately Moyes wouldnt be our manager if TFG had got to the end of last season and made an appointment in tbe summer
We tried for him and he pretended to take a break from football so he didn't have to take us on.
We would have hounded him out after the 1st 5 games without a win this season and we all know it.

We will be getting better, much better, but now is not the time whilst we are in transition.

He is here as a safe pair of hands until next season. That's it.
Foundations are being built by the team being created around him.
For info this team wasn't in place during the summer window.
Any change we made now would only be another safe pair of hands until next year.
Any decent coach wouldn't be looking at us yet.

This club needed and is being rebuilt from the inside. It will take time.
Could not disagree with this more tbh.

Myko, Gueye, Tarkowski and probably Keane will be bombed out of the team/squad at the first opportunity by any new manager with a modicum of sense and/or eyes. Only at that point will we then start building a CB partnership of JOB and JB which should be happening now, or giving Aznou some minutes which should be happening now, or playing Armstrong (or Rohl) centrally which should be happening now, and giving Dibling time to find his feet which should be happening now.

He is actively holding us back from building our team for the future IMO.

I get peoples frustration at the line ups and having square pegs in round holes etc I think Moyes is trying to get his best players on the pitch at the same time almost regardless of position.

The weird thing has been when Patterson has played we do look more balanced, he played well in the last game he played and hasnt been seen since, same for Rohl. Aznou had a great little cameo against Sunderland and has been omitted from the squad, looks like Alcaraz was also taken out of the squad last night as well. All feels a bit strange.

On the other hand though we have been so desperate just to have a season where we can take stock and build without the fear of relegation. Most of the signings we have made are for the future and not just the here and now. Some have shown they need some time but have already been written off by sections of the fan base.

If someone had said going into March we'd be 9th and 11 points off 4th at the start of the season we would have have broken their hands off.

I think we can be frustrated with things but also be at peace that we are moving in the right direction and that money will be available once again to try and push on further.

Just watched his dour faced interview. Claiming we made chances in the second half when in reality we struggled to create any clear chances in 90 minutes.
Blames the players for conceding a goal on the counter attack and claims they should have been more aware of that- ignoring the fact we’ve let loads of goals in on the counter attack at home and he insists on picking 2 centre backs who are painfully slow.
Claims were having a good season overall, even through we’ve only won 4 home games.
Makes a bizarre statement that we miss James Garner in the middle of the pitch, seemingly forgetting that he picked him to play there.
Zero responsibility taken again for his team selection and tactics. Get him gone.

No 9th is a good position but not good enough for some. I was asking where should we be for them to be happy?
You literally said it - we could be knocking at the top 4 had he not sh*t the bed at home..

The team that beat us last night are doing just that and they're super average these days.

How am I worshiping him? I don't even know the bloke. I see what is front of me and he has us safe in February. When was the last time we could say that.
The issues with Moyes are nothing to do with being 9th, have not seen anyone moaning about where we are in the table but we have benefitted from an awful PL this year at times. The issues with Moyes are more about how we/goes about his business. The game has bypassed him in recent years. Also my point was more a general thing and not specifically aimed at you btw, apologies if you thought it was.

How would you know when they've not had a summer window yet?

Agree with some points you make but JOB was suspended and Aznou and Dibling just aren't ready IMO.
Can't stomach watching Tarks and Gana anymore.

Barry wasn't (and arguably still isn't completely) ready and was given a run. Armstrong was on the verge of being booted back to Preston but is now being tested as our solution on the left?!

One of the good things about being mid-table with no more cup games is the freedom to try new things. We won't go down and we seem determined not to trouble Europe so if now isn't the time to get Aznou, Dibling, George et al some minutes and confidence going into next year, when is?

I haven’t listened yet but I ageee, he’s a clown. His argument all over Christmas for Moyes picking McNeil was Dibling is not working hard enough. These fans have hung their hats on Moyes and are not man enough to say the games moved on and he’s been left behind
Pretty much says the same thing for George not starting. It’s a hard listen.

We haven’t won a home game in 3 months. Not Everyone is hounding Moyes out. He also won just 7 home games in 27. This notion we’d hound a mananger out for a bad run is just a pathetic excuse. Ste Kelly on a view from the bullens another Moyes fan boy, says if we had Iraola we would have thrown him in the Mersey if he had gone 3 months without a win, like he has this season at Bournemouth. This is the Bournemouth, that have lost 4 of their best players this season, play much better football, he’s not afraid to play you youngsters and they now sit above us in the table
